About this deal

Sex was ALWAYS on the brain for these two, mainly in the first half of the book. Not even the action of it, just the thought. I hated it.

Lots of mention of bending her over and taking her but it was always so sweet. It was more the fact that he said it repeatedly and it just never happened. I felt set up for some explosive scenes and was just so sweet all the time. Lastly, one thing that grated on my nerves more than anything, throughout the book was that, even while claiming to love each other, they went around and slept with different people. While she now thinks of herself as an author, she has said that her biggest dream is to one day hold a physical copy of her works and put it on her home bookshelf. She would also be delighted if one or several of her books were optioned and made into movies. I really really liked a lot of things about this book. First and foremost, I liked the fact that things were realistic and genuine. Violet put herself out there for Nash because she believed in him and truly loved him, she was patient with him and tried her best to understand his point of view on a lot of things. For example, there was no “he smiles for the first time” moment OR “i haven’t heard him laugh before bc he’s so grumpy but now he is and it’s magical” moment EITHER. Otherwise Engaged” by Avery Keelan is another beautiful romance between Thayer and Bennett. The former believed that pretending she had a boyfriend would help to get her out of trouble, only to find that it landed her in more. Meeting freshman year of college, Nash has eyes for only one girl until his past issues start to affect their relationship. After breaking her heart, Nash finds himself in close proximity of Violet in senior year when she becomes his athletic trainer. I wanted to read something light since I'd been continuously reading dark romances. At the same time a bit angsty read and "the one who got away" trope always serves as an angsty read.

Like at what point does it get only a little exiting? All I’m asking for it a 0.5 effort. Chase loans her family money and he has to make it up for her. “You know, I’m pretty mad” bailey says as she smiles. NOT EVEN A THANK YOU. She never tried to get a job, she just kept drinking her vanilla latte and let chase pay for everything while using a victim coat every chance she could get. This is not what i look for or want to recognize in a female character. Like the bar for her was so low, everything made her sad and she needed to be taken care of etc etc. that’s usually something i would enjoy in a book, even prefer. So use your fantasy to imagine how tame it was handled in this book. God was it traumatizing to read. Anything traumatized this girl, willingly going into a sex store? Left a dent in her soul apparently. She was just so boring in the relationship. Nothing exciting ever. Bottom Line? It was ok. I think there was a lot of fluff that could have been paired down. I skimmed a lot of the last 60%. But I finished. 🤷🏼‍♀️. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Early on, Keelan went to college where she studied Psychology and Commerce, specializing in government legislation and policy. After graduation, she went on to work for the government but always desired to become a fiction author. Violet deserves an award for being the most patient person. She was very mature which was a nice change of pace. He just learned that the beautiful girl he had been seeing on the university campus was the daughter of Coach Ward. He made a mental note to himself to stay as far away as possible from her. Overall, I enjoyed the writing and the characters and I loved the couple. Those things saved the book for me, but there are definitely some developmental issues for me, which would make you think I would maybe DNF or not read another book but something keeps me holding out hope that the story telling will get better because I really enjoy the style and characters she creates. A little side character appreciation, I am absolutely in love with the other boys already and their subtle involvements throughout the book and how we get a bit of a sneak peek at what's going on in their lives.
