I honestly don’t know how to comment on this bc i know not all muslims share the same opinion on certain subjects and we don’t necessarily practice the same thing bc of diff cultures and all, buuut i’m sure we can all unanimously agree on what’s ‘haram’ and what’s not. (at least the basics, right?¿) Talia Hibbert really has me out here believing that these fictional men she creates exist. So I’m going to roll with this delusion. I love brown men in interracial. I think I'm disappointed that many of the brown men I've been reading as of recent weeks are a little boring. Zafir was a non-practicing Muslim and a cinnamon roll but much of what was adorable about him made him feel like financially he couldn't compete with Dani. I had to wonder whether this is the reason she never reassured him because he wasn't impressive in comparison to her so she reminded me of Molly from Insecure. She didn't really want to put in work she just wanted when her time was free to have a loyal partner. Take a Hint, Dani Brown was absolutely wonderful with an amazing romance and delightful characters.

Danika Brown, a clever, witty workaholic doesn't do romance, she's too focussed on her academic career, and has been burnt in the past. She just wants a friends with benefits type situation. When her sexy friend Zafir Ansari, a sensitive, brooding, romantic former rugby player rescues her from a disastrous fire drill, it goes viral, and they embark on a fake relationship to boost Zafir's rugby charity. Will their plan work? Or will it lead to more?!

Need Help?

Dani is a literal Queen, a bisexual badass who knows what she wants and goes after that shit. Training for her PHD, Dani is focussed on her academic potential. She knows what she wants (in and outside of the bedroom) and she goes for it and I loved this almost non-apologetic manner that she had! Dani embraced her sexuality and owned herself and it was so empowering to read about. Danika Brown knows what she wants: professional success, academic renown, and an occasional roll in the hay to relieve all that career-driven tension. But romance? Been there, done that, burned the T-shirt. Romantic partners, whatever their gender, are a distraction at best and a drain at worst. So Dani asks the universe for the perfect friend-with-benefits—someone who knows the score and knows their way around the bedroom. In a few words: An addictive diverse adult romance with fat rep, mental health rep, fake dating and the ultimate grumpy but soft love interest

To be honest, all the hashtags at the start of each chapter kind of irritated me, but that's because I'm old ha ha! But #couplegoals and #Dr Rugbae made me cringe hard! Major or minor, if something keeps you human when pressure makes you feel like a volcano, hold on to that thing by whatever means necessary."

Ill forever be a fan of Talia Hibberts writing. The way she portrays thought, emotion and awareness always makes her books so compelling! Its difficult not to become wrapped in the lives of these characters because theyre so well-layered and refined. The drama, which occurs in almost every contemporary romance, is very believable. And I think the main reason is because the nature and traits of the characters are so well-developed, theres little for the reader to question. As I saw the events unfold I thought, Yep, thats exactly how Dani would react. Components like this make even the conflict a gratifying reading experience. Talia Hibbert did it again and wrote another fantastic Brown Sisters’ book. But this is also tormenting experience because we need to wait for one year to read the third one! I think especially in British literature, it's quite a humorous convention to have this very posh, very well-off family that's disconnected from the world in a humorous way.

As for Dani, well, shes fantastic! Shes motivated and determined, shes blunt and shes confident, but she also protects her heart at all costs. She values her success in her academic field, and it was so wonderful getting to read about someone who so obviously loved what they did, and was not ashamed to put their focus on their work rather than other places.Theres also this wonderful conversation about the difference between changing yourself for someone else and someone encouraging you to grow and become a better version of yourself. This is such an important distinction and I was so glad to see it discussed in a romance book, where many times the characters feel the need to change themselves to be with their love interest, which should not be the case! She detected a faint note of wonder in his voice that made her want to squish his cheeks and kiss his forehead. Fortunately, he wasn't in the room, so she was saved from the horror of actually following that impulse.

So much thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins Publishers/Avon for sharing my most anticipated romance book’s ARC with me in exchange my honest review.I loved the way this book challenged social gender construct, looked at how living with anxiety can affect your life, dismantling the misconceptions surrounding romance novels and explored vulnerability that was masked. Reread and I can’t even tell you how happy this book, this series makes me. All thanks to Talia Hibbert and her wonderfully engaging characters that shine through her writing. me: brotha Zain, where you at?? this is the best time to get inside his head and remind him what he’s doing is haram 😂🤣
