We have a play written by one of the greatest playwrights of the 20th Century, directed by one of the greatest directors of the 20th Century, and starring three of the greatest actors of the 20th Century. Is it surprising that it's a winner? (Well, it also stars Sue Lyon, considered a star because she had just played Lolita. She wasn't a great actor, but she's typecast as a spoiled, sexually needy adolescent.) Dr. Lawrence Scott is the planting and Lead Pastor of One Church @ Harvest Point. He has extensive ministry experience, having held various positions in the local church. Apart from leading One Church @ Harvest Point, Pastor Scott is also a Church Consultant and trainer. Additionally, he is the Alumni Director for the Greater Houston area in the Alumni Relations department at Dallas Theological Seminary. "Heads she wins, tails you lose." Has this man never heard of a double-headed coin? And the fact that you can't play heads-or-tails in that manner? He's trying to talk about 'cheating the game', but he can't even accurately portray cheating in his metaphor. And then there's the analogies to the predator species! Snakes, wasps, cats, sharks... and camels? The extremely predatory camel, the most dangerous creature to ever be found. Plus, the question-answer way of organization (of the book) is just plain irritating to read.. after sometime you realize most questions and answers are similar; just differently worded.

One of the most powerful aspects of the play is its use of the conjured tropical environment. The audience is seated where the sea breeze rolls, which creates the curious experience of having the cast turn to you as a source of calm and comfort. Often they seem to confide in you, searching for answers, and you can almost feel the briny-tossed breeze as it flows from behind you and rushes up to the stage and ruffles the palm leaves overhead. Slowly day turns to night and the shanty rooms become low-lit worldsseparated by thin partition walls. Finally, these worlds collide amidst a crescendo of thunder and lightning asmonsoon rains sweep in and drip from the corrugated eaves. The plot to the film is admittedly very much on the thin side but nevertheless more than makes up for it with thought provoking themes and dialogues that fill in the spaces where such action may have otherwise been noticed as missing. There was a couple of other little problems I had with the story including the sometimes slow pace and the contrived ending or epilogue as I like to refer to it. However, these aspects don't do much damage to an otherwise perfect and timeless classic. Steve enjoyed many interests as well, including, submarines, history, literature, the Wild West, firearms and most of all, his family. I'd say you better take the book with a pinch of salt, and use it as a cautionary tale about all the bad things that a women _may_ do to you. It might not happen... but you better be prepared, just in case it happens. After all, it really happens to lots of folk, so - as the saying goes - better safe than sorry :-) SHANNON: I’m going to tell you something about yourself. You are a lady, a real one and a great one.Deep and thought provoking film about life death and the what it's, existence, all about with Richard Burton giving one of his most penetrating performances as the mentally unstable and suicidal Rev. Lawrence T. Shannon. Shannon who was on the brink of killing himself but saved from drowning by Maxine's Mexican beach-boys, Pepe & Pedro, finally got it right from the just about gone, on his death wheelchair, Grandpa Nonno. The film eliminates the Nazi tourists and the character of Jake Latta, and Shannon is fired through a comical telephone call. A memorial service was held on July 10, 2010. The movie based on Tennesse Williams's play, It's is the typically overheated melodrama , though with rather humor than one usually associates with that playwright . Softened for the censors , though the themes of insanity , alcoholism , thrersome, sex , characterizations of evil , and unusual settings presage many films of the next two decades . Lots of talk in this one leading up to lots more .The storyline relies heavily on the continued relationship among three main characters : Richard Burton , Ava Gardner and Deborah Kerr . Being competently directed directed with a full head of steam by John Huston. Interpretations match the ripeness of the writing . Main and support cast are frankly excellent . Richard Burton is awesome as a former minister attempting to be reinstated in his Church , Ava Gardner is phenomenal as the bitter , lonely widow , Deborah Kerr is adequate as the spinster with hidden depths , gorgeous Sue Lyon as the rebel teen , in his first role since her debut as a pouting nymphet in Lolita . Furthemore , a stunning support cast as Skip Ward , Grayson Hall , Cyril Delevanti and Emilio Fernandez .

In 1996, a Broadway revival directed by Robert Falls, featured William Petersen as Rev. Shannon, Marsha Mason as Maxine and Cherry Jones as Hannah. This was based on a 1994 production staged by the Goodman Theatre in Chicago. Steve's ashes will be scattered at the waterfall on Mt. Rose in September. This was a special place for I don't know how much the author intended the book to be ironic or over-the-top; it certainly often sounds that way: (predatory) women are depicted in harsh and unforgiving ways. The Circle in the Square Theatre staged a 1988 revival starring Nicolas Surovy as Rev. Shannon, Jane Alexander as Maxine and Maria Tucci as Hannah.It's everything I and every other born bachelor believes about women, marriage and dating. I have believed something like it ever since I was about, oh, probably five months old. And you know what?
