Default temperatures and times are suggested for each setting, but there are arrows to adjust both, which are clearly displayed and very responsive to touch. No double taps necessary to go up or down. In spite of its many functions, the Ninja is exceptionally easy to program. The lever to switch between air fry or rapid cooker mode is large and easy to flip. Once you do that, it’s completely intuitive to select a cooking program, temperature, and time on the control panel. I turned the yogurt into raita by adding some finely diced cucumber, red onion, cilantro, salt, cumin and lemon juice. It takes up more counter space than my air fryer and I wasn’t sure I would want to sacrifice even more precious counter space. Getting me to swap out my air fryer for this machine was also going to be a hard sell. I vowed to use the Speedi exclusively for a month and see how I felt. First and ALWAYS use the Ninja Speedi Guide and Recipe Book to get your feet wet while using the machine. This is going to always be my first suggestion. Any baking pans can be used in the Ninja Speedi that would normally be used in the oven as long as they fit the Ninja Speedi. The Ninja Speedi has an industrial aesthetic. It looks like a piece of equipment that you’d see in a restaurant or food service kitchen not on a home countertop. While it has some stainless-steel accents, its primary color is battleship gray. We like to keep an 8-inch cake pan on hand along with some smaller pans so that we can do a variety of meals in the Ninja Speedi. What can you make in the Ninja Speedi?We made everything from French fries to chocolate chip banana bread, using every function the Speedi has. There is no automatic preheat cycle but the manual instructs to add 5 minutes to air fry cooking times to heat up the oven before you begin cooking. That means you have to set a timer to remind you when to add your food, but that’s a relatively minor inconvenience. Cleanup is a breeze I will share my own recipes and experiments over the next month or so. While the Speedi is almost silent when it steams, the air fry setting makes a whooshing noise that sounds like a hair dryer on low speed. It’s certainly not louder than your average air fryer, but it does make noise. There are no handles on the pot and the crisper tray I was also impressed with how well it broiled. However, I found most of the other functions of minimal benefit. For baking, you’re better off using a conventional oven, and for searing and sautéing, a skillet. Beyond its industrial look, the Ninja Speedi is a muticooker with excellent air frying capabilities that's worthy of a spot in the kitchen. Yes, if you air fry often and will use its Speedi Meals feature This is a great little tool for the nights when you really only have a handful of ingredients on hand. Just punch them in and you will get an easy meal laid out for you with instructions and cooking times. Once you get comfortable with the Speedi, you can start to freestyle more and start using your own favourite recipes, adjusted to the machine. Facebook Groups: It's prettier than other multi-cookers at first glance - if it was a toss-up between the Ninja Foodi 9-in-1 and this smaller pastel cooker, I know which one I'd choose.
