About this deal

Those models run anywhere from 110 to 130, while the Zoom Structure are right in the middle with a price tag of 120. On the other side, the outsole provided a highlight for the sole unit. The traction provided by the outsole handled every surface I on which I tested it. Nike has yet to specify which foam they use in the Structure 23. On the midsole is written “CMP 010”. A new foam maybe? To me, it feels very similar to the Lunarlon that was used on the Vomero 10-13.

Allow me to counter-balance the previous opinions on these. Well, everybody’s foot is different obviously but the 22’s work just fine for me.The result is a more consistent ride than the Pegasus and Vomero because CMP 010 foam surrounds the airbag in the forefoot whereas the forefoot of the Pegasus/Vomero feels much firmer than the rearfoot so the ride feels inconsistent. This is no more of a stability shoe than the Pegasus, or the Vomero is. The only thing that it shares in common with previous Structures is the name. If the heel were lower to the ground, giving a more grounded feel and platform, it would help provide more support and stability. This feeling of unbalance became more evident the longer I ran. The Structure 23 fits true to size and has a deep and spacious forefoot. I found it comfortable enough for super long runs but really warm because of the inner sleeve and all the padding. Nike Air Zoom Structure 23 Conclusion

Imagine if ASICS removed the firm medial post from the Kayano and gave it a single-density midsole. That’s exactly what they did with the Kayano Lite but at least they still kept the regular Kayano for runners who still want traditional stability. Everyone’s gait is slightly different, but there are four main types of running styles and pronation: The Structure 23 is a very soft shoe: softer than the Pegasus 37, softer than the Miler and softer than the Vomero 14, making it one of the softest Nike shoes one can buy in the current lineup. The Zoom Structures absorbed the impact of my feet hitting the ground nicely but failed to return any bounce. After a while, I felt my legs and feet tire because I was fighting the shoe.

Nike Air Zoom Structure 23 Sole Unit

My first run was 15 kilometres at an easy pace. The first thing that surprised me was how much cushion the midsole had. Initially, I felt the midsole was on the firm side but satisfactory. After putting over 100 miles in them, I can honestly say they just get better with age. The next three versions toned down the medial post, making them more comfortable and this broadened the target market. The firm ride still remained.

Your foot sits inside the midsole and there are lateral side rails which keep your foot centred through transitions. It was a bold move for Nike to transform their last textbook stability trainer into a supportive, neutral trainer. Nike’s research must have indicated that the number of runners wanting a supportive, neutral trainer outweighed the number of runners wanting a “true” stability trainer. During gait analysis you will be asked to walk and run on our in-store treadmill whilst your movements are recorded using the latest Daftfish software. A slow-motion, detailed analysis will show and explain your biomechanics, specifically looking at pronation, the inward-turning movement that occurs when your foot touches the ground. During walking and running this acts as cushioning for the body.

Is your closet getting a little crowded with all those specialty shoes you’ve been collecting? It’s true, right? That is not going to happen in these Zooms. Nike built in plenty of room for those toes to spread out. It gives supreme comfort during the workout, and you’ll feel great after you're done.
