About this deal

The Grosnug combines an easy swaddle with a newborn Grobag. . You don’t need to know how to swaddle your baby, just place them inside and zip them in. It has poppers which allow you to swaddle your baby arms in or arms out – whichever they prefer, allowing them to move onto a Grobag Baby Sleep Bag when they’re ready. Our Swaddlebags come in two sizes: 0-3 months (7-13lbs 8oz/3.2-6.1kg and up to 62cm in height) and 3-6 months (from 13lbs 8oz – 18lbs/6.1-8.2kg and 62-68cm in height) so you can choose the best fit for your baby. The Tommee Tippee swaddle bag is designed to be snug on top and spacious at the bottom to allow a natural hip-healthy leg position. This baby sleeping bag design is approved by the international hip dysplasia institute. Mix it up: You should also give your baby lots of opportunity to explore out of the swaddle, 'so pop them down on the floor and let them move around,' says Ratcliffe. 'This will help with startle reflex and organising their voluntary movements as well.'

Fluctuations in room temperature often require parents to adjust baby’s warmth levels during the night. However, changing baby’s wearing layers whilst they are sleeping can be disruptive and safer sleep guidelines warn against adding loose blankets on top of a baby sleeping bag as it introduces avoidable risks. It helps my baby sleep through the night by giving them the feeling of being swaddled. It also helps give me peace of mind as a parent, as it's unlikely that they can get lost under the blanket and so I feel much calmer about leaving my baby in bed and get on with jobs around the house. If it feels chilly, give them a cuddle and pop them into a long sleeved baby-grow. Whereas, if it feels a bit hot then remove one of their layers, suggests Ratcliffe. 'If they are swaddled they might have too much on underneath so loosen the swaddle,'

If I’m being honest, I wouldn’t change anything about this product – I couldn’t fault it at all and my baby was very happy when using it. A big thank you to The Gro Company! Tested by mum Liz for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Just like when they were in mummy’s tummy, our Swaddlebag helps young babies to feel cosy and secure to improve the quality of their natural sleep. Wrapping or swaddling baby with their arms inside soft fabric helps mimic the closeness of the womb and suppresses the startle reflex which can wake babies up. With this easy-to-useSwaddlebag you can use the poppers on the armholes to either swaddle your baby with arms in for total snugness or arms out to allow them to stretch. For super comfortable arms-in swaddlingwithno complicated wrapping or fastenings, simply lay your baby onto the Swaddlebag and zip themin. Slim fitting through the chest to enable full freedom of movement without restriction or excess bulk with a roomy, hip-healthy bottom. I would highly recommend a sleeping bag as it takes away any worry about sheets and blankets getting over the babies face. We didn't use one for dc1 as we didn't realise they could be used from birth - he was swaddled instead. With dc2 we found a sleeping bag by Babasac (from John Lewis) which was ok from 3.4kg - grobags are from 4kg I think. (As it happened we could have used a grobag as dc2 was nearly 10lb!!)

Never swaddle above the shoulders: 'Do not swaddle a baby’s head,' advises Ratcliffe. 'And never put a hat on unless it’s been medically advised, as they could risk overheating which then becomes a sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) risk.' try to cool it down, and if this isn’t possible then it may be better to leave baby out of the swaddle until it is cooler. However, you should definitely stop swaddling the moment your baby shows signs of learning how to roll over, says Ratcliffe, 'with the aim of weaning off by 12 weeks,' she adds. How do you know if your baby is cold at night? However, it isn't for every baby, so don't be alarmed if your little one rejects swaddling in favour of stretching out. Every child is different when it comes to how they feel most comfortable. Baby swaddle safety advice

There are many reasons families like to swaddle their baby,' says Ratcliffe. 'Some are for cultural reasons. Others can be if the baby has a strong startle reflex, or if the baby is overtired or over-stimulated.' Therefore, we teamed up with sleep scientists and a qualified paediatrician at Northumbria University, to develop a dual-tog All-Season Grobag™. Suitable for use in temperatures ranging from 14-27+°C, featuring removable insulation it can be easily adjusted from a 2.5 tog to a 1.0 tog sleep bag. If parents need to adjust baby’s temperature while they are sleeping, they can safely add or remove warmth using the outer zip ‘n’ pop layers with minimal disturbance to baby. With breathable mesh, positioned in high-heat areas, it enhances baby’s ability to efficiently release excess heat, which supports their natural temperature regulation and ultimately helps to keep them comfortable for a good night's sleep.
