About this deal

Series 7 of the Great British Sewing Bee will start on 14th April 2021. It will be on Wednesdays each week on BBC 1 at 9pm. This will be the seventh series of the sewing BBC TV show and we are so excited to see what contestants and sewing challenges will be. Each year we look forward to another series and most recently we were treated to a celebrity special over Christmas. So far we know that there was a call out for Sewing Bee contestants to apply for the new TV series last year and also that it was filmed in Autumn 2022. In previous years The Great British Sewing Bee has been shown on the BBC in the UK in Spring time, usually around April but this year it will air in May. Episode 7 –For episode seven the theme was Winter week where challenges were themed around keeping warm and adding sparkle. The challenges included making a man’s flannel shirt, a new garment from old scarves and a made-to-measure festive party dress. Find the sewing patterns used by the contestants here. Episode 2– In episode two of the sewing bee, eleven contestants remain, after we sadly said goodbye to Angillia in week one. The theme for this week is sewing for the holidays. The challenges included making a pair of Palazzo pants, transforming towels into beach cover-ups and making a made-to-measure relaxed men’s beach shirt for a model. Take a look at our sewing pattern suggestions for your handmade wardrobe.

Episode 10 –For the final the theme was Special Occasions, giving the final three contestants the opportunity to show off their advanced sewing skills. The challenges included making a little child’s bridesmaid dress, upcycling homewares into a summer festival outfit, and a made-to-measure off the shoulder evening gown. She loves to make outfits for her children.

Annie was inspired by her granny to start sewing, works as a buyer for a high street fashion brand and loves roller skating, camping and long walks. Gill started sewing when her husband bought her a machine three years ago. She makes clothes for herself, family and greyhound Maureen. She works as an analyst and feels that her love for numbers helps her with sewing. The Great British Sewing Bee will be on BBC 1 at 9pm starting on the 24th May 2023. Nicole– jewellery designer from London, 42. Nicole lived in Trinidad as a child and had clothes made by a seamstress. She then learnt to sew as a teenager and since then has been making many of her own clothes from relaxed outfits to outfits for special occasions using bold Asian prints and metallics. She loves music, especially David Bowie.

Mark– Personal banker from Kenilworth, 42. Mark has been sewing for three years now and likes to make vintage inspired menswear, often inspired by Dr Who outfits.

Fauve is also a top golfer, who has represented Wales in the Home Nationals. She only started sewing five years ago when she joined a sewing class and made a peg bag. At the home she shares with her mum, dad, brother and nan, she has a small ‘sewing cupboard’ where she makes puff sleeved feminine dresses.
