About this deal

It makes the station take up more space in your luggage and it won’t fit in my cabinet where I usually store the stations I’m currently using. Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use attachments not recommended by the manufacturer.

Braun Series 6 electric shaver for men features a dermatologically tested SensoFlex swivel head and SensoFoil blades that enable low pressure adaptation for closeness, whilst remaining sensitive on your skin. When disconnected, the hand-held part of this shaving appliance may be used in a bath or shower. For safety reasons this appliance can only be operated cordless. Always attach plug to appliance first, then to outlet. To disconnect, turn all controls off, then remove plug from outlet. So there it is, I truly think the old models will be a better buy unless you need the trimmer attachments and accessories that are only available with the new ones.

The key to getting a really smooth shave with it is to go slow, using controlled strokes, always against the grain, and never press too hard. My main gripe with the 2020 Series 7, Series 6 and Series 5 is that they perform a bit underwhelming, they share similar parts (cassettes, design, cleaning stations and motors in the case of the Series 6 and 5) and are in many ways a downgrade from some existing Braun models. In my earlier review, I noted that the case is not a hard plastic case but rather some sort of plastic cloth case without vents. This has indeed become a bit of an issue since it collects dust and dirt, in particular stubble. Even though I most often rinse the razor every day after use, there are rare occasions where I don’t have time or the water to do that. The case has collected a bit of dust/stubble and it doesn’t clean easily nor well. It takes some effort to clean it and even then it doesn’t clean well. Other cc models that are shipped with the station include the 6090cc, 6072cc, or the 60-B7500cc (European model). First, the positives. It is quiet! When contrasted to the 5885, the difference is night and day. The 5885 hurt my ears and this is coming from a cavalry and armor officer who was surrounded by rather loud and sharp noises. It certainly wasn’t tactical!! The 6020 is very quiet and I can say that it is not much louder than my phone when on vibrate and a hard surface.

The first and most noticeable one (at least for me) was the less powerful motor fitted to the Series 6. Overall, the shaving performance of the Series 6 was decent, but again, rather underwhelming for a shaver in this price range. I wonder why Braun has taken off all these useful functions from the later versions (as well as removing the fan/drying mechanism from the cleaning station, protective cap, etc).So I would say that the Series 6 is a good choice if you have light to medium hair and tend to shave more often. After testing the Series 6 extensively, the comfort during the shave was in my opinion one of the highlights of this razor. Getting into the shaver, it’s the version which comes with digital display – Syncro 7680. I believe this one should be the very last version Braun released in Syncro series. And after using the Series 6 6075cc, I can confirm that it’s true, but there are a couple of important differences.

If you add a pre-shave or a quality shaving cream, it’s even better, although if you don’t have any skin sensitivity issues you may not see a significant improvement. Shaving longer hairsWhen plugging to an electrical outlet outside North America, use a plug adapter to match the outlet’s pin configuration.

With the Series 6 (and the rest of the 2020 models), Braun also moved away from the familiar design language we’ve seen with their previous Series 5 and 9 shavers. A direct consequence of the wet/dry operation is that the shaver will not work with the cord plugged in.

If that’s the main thing you’re after, you’ll be better off with the aforementioned Panasonic instead. All Series 6 models are suitable for wet & dry use and again will only work cordless (50 minutes of use). Since it’s completely waterproof, you can simply rinse it with warm tap water. For more thorough cleaning, just use a bit of liquid soap.
