To get the best results from this product apply the fertiliser evenly to the soil, preferably when the soil is wet. Q4 All Purpose Plant Food is perfect to use on roses, prior to planting. For established bushes it can be applied as a top dressing in the spring. It is one product that combines the benefits of growmore or fish, blood and bone with added trace elements, so possesses additional benefits. WHAT IS Q4 FERTILIZER? You can say it is a general-purpose fertiliser that has good multitude uses in the garden including containers.

It is recommended that you apply it evenly at the roots below, preferable when the soil or compost is moist. Once applied, you will need to lightly hoe the produce onto the surface and if it is dry to water it in. For roses apply 140 grams per square metre before planting or give an annual dressing for established bushes. Certain leaves left to rot in water form a nutritious liquid - although the process smells rather evil. It’s possible to make a wall-mounted comfrey tea maker using a drainpipe sealed at both ends with removable pieces. Feed the leaves into the top and drain the brown tea from the base after two to three weeks. Dilute before using one part tea to twenty parts water. This product must be stored out of the reach of pets and children and away from pesticides, food, drink and animal feed. I have used Q4 for a while in my garden and my containers with great success. What is good about the fertilizer is that you do not need to add a lot, especially in containers. You can mix it with compost before planting and/or you can use it as a top dressing. One of the hardest things in gardening is to know whether to feed, or not, and there’s no simple answer because some plants prefer poor soil. The ideal situation is to have the best of both worlds: an organic-based fertiliser with enhanced nutrient content which includes all of those plant nutrients that are required in smaller amounts, but are nonetheless essential for plant growth and performance. I should also mention that ericaceous plants such as rhododendrons and camellias need specific fertilisers; they are fussy feeders and cannot cope with the high nutrient levels of general fertilisers. The high potash ratio will boost the number of flowers and toughen up the foliage on roses and many other flowering plants. All rose feeds are high in potash and they can be used with lots of flowering plants - although they do tend to be expensive. Westland Gro-Sure Tomato Food (6-3-10) Even if you use Vitax Q4 as a general slow release fertiliser at the beginning of the season the Vitax Premium liquids range will really help to give your plants a boost. Just dilute in the watering can and apply when watering. It’s ideal for pots and containers and on all newly planted subjects. It is a general-purpose fertiliser that comes in the form of a granular feed that contains nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium that plant need with added trace elements. It will provide a wide range of plants enough nutrients throughout the growing season.
