About this deal

One morning, Luna heads out to meet Irene for a run at their regular spot, she gets there only to find Irene dead. She's been murdered! Everyone has the same questions about best friends Owen and Luna: What binds them together so tightly? Why weren't they ever a couple? And why do people around them keep turning up dead? In this riveting novel from the New York Times bestselling author of The Passenger, every answer raises a new, more chilling question. Eddie Flynn is approached by fellow lawyer Otto Peltier to defend Carrie Miller in her murder trial, due to start in a few days. Peltier is not a criminal defence lawyer, he specialises in estate law, commercial/property law and the odd divorce.

From the get-go we know the name of The Sandman, that’s not the problem, what we’re concerned with is whether his wife was aware that he was a serial killer and whether she was a knowing participant in some of his crimes. Daniel Miller is a wealthy hedge fund manager and has been running amok for years. His wife, Carrie, is absolutely distraught that her vague suspicions have proven to be true. Yes, voor @lsamsterdam mocht ik deze nieuwe thriller van @sscav lezen! En ook deze keer was het weer genieten. Luna and Irene have established a friendship of their own, however, frequently visiting and even going for runs together.I didn’t find their friendship or the stories surrounding either death particularly riveting and have now confirmed that this author is not a fit for me! 😉 Luna Grey and Owen Mann have been friends since college. The friendship was an unexpected one. The popular guy and the secretive girl. Yes, Luna's secret is a big one. One that not even Owen knows.

While I felt the story started to lose a little steam and burn a bit too slowly, The Accomplice is still thriller I can easily recommend. I didn’t guess the outcome of either of the two mysteries, which is a huge plus. Then there’s the whole uniqueness of the male/female friendship aspect. And despite my belief that the writing is pretty standard, it does feature a novel characteristic - that of a truly omniscient narrator. Written in the third person, the perspective shifts almost constantly. In the course of one paragraph, you’ll know what all the characters are thinking. Kinda cool! If even just for these reasons, The Accomplice is an accomplished book that has me looking forward to whatever Lutz will do next. Thank you to Ballantine Books and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Expected Publication Date: 1/25/22.I found this book to be extremely interesting. Luna and Owen were both complex characters. While they seemed a bit aloof with most people, with one another, they were completely different. The plot as fast paced and on occasions it’s belting along at warp speed making it exciting and completely gripping. At times I yell ‘Nooooo’ which gets a few odd glances but that’s how involved you get. It’s almost like you’re there and living it with them.

Glad to return to the world of Steve Cavanagh and the Eddie Flynn legal thrillers, I turned to the latest instalment of the series. Cavanagh takes an interesting approach to the law and investigation in a piece that shows just how on the ball the author can be when it comes to the world of serial killers. A strong story and great characters help elevate the book and make me yearn for more as soon as possible. In the present, Owen and Luna are still best buddies. Owen is married to Irene and Luna lives just a few houses from him. Luna is also married although she doesn't seem to be happy. When Luna finds out Owen is cheating and she learns this from Irene herself, she meets Owen to make sure he knows his wife knows.

The new Eddie Flynn novel from the Sunday Times and million copy bestselling author of THIRTEEN, FIFTY FIFTY and THE DEVIL'S ADVOCATE. The Accomplice is a contemporary mystery-thriller novel about two long-time platonic friends, Owen, and Luna, and all their past and present baggage. It was fast, fun, and kept my interest from the beginning to the end. What’s this horrifying secret Luna hiding from everyone? Not actually everyone: their mutual friend-pot provider Mason already knows who she is but he keeps his mouth shut. What happens if someone learns and tells the people? Overall, this is a hard-to-put-down and compelling tale with mysterious undertones, suspenseful chapters that keep you hooked, and brilliant/biting dialogue (which I really love).Luna and Owen have been best friends for over a decade. Their bond runs incredibly deep, sometimes to the detriment of others in their lives. Eddie Flynn won't take a case unless his client is innocent. Now, he has to prove to a jury, and the entire world, that Carrie Miller was just another victim of the Sandman. She didn't know her husband's dark side and she had no part in the murders. But so far, Eddie and his team are the only ones who believe her. Kudos, Mr. Cavanagh, for keeping me entertained and highly in tune with the world of legal thrillers. With his wife on trial, Daniel Miller is forced to come out of hiding to save her from a life sentence. He will kill to protect her and everyone involved in the case is a target.
