Kage awakens Natalie’s dormant libido and once she gives in to his touch, it brings out the sexy, temptress side of her. Natalie is fierce, feisty, sassy and strong which is good as the road to HEA is no walk in the park. Sloane is awesome. She is self-assured and snarky. She is funny, crazy and completely badass. The narration was great. Like Ruthless Creatures, this one is narrated like a play or an old time radio show. I wish all books were done like this. Michelle Sparks did the voice of Sloane and she was perfect for the sarcastic and snarky woman. Troy Duran did the voice of Declan and he does an Irish accent as well as he does a Russian one. Brooke Daniels did the voice of Natalie and was wonderful as well. Therefore, I am rating Carnal Urges with 4.5 STARS because it definitely follows the great start to this series with an equally amazing second installment. I loved Sloane and Declan, I loved their steamy chemistry and their unique connection. I loved seeing more of Kage and Nat too. I can now say that I am addicted to this series and these characters and I am so glad J.T. Geissinger is giving us more of them! I cannot wait to read the next one and I am so curious to know who will be the protagonists. Guys, don’t miss the Queens & Monsters series if you love mafia romance!

Declan flew to New York and kidnapped her when she was on a visit to her bestie, Natalie. The Hero(es): Malek Antonov (a.k.a. GHDS, a.k.a. The Hangman, a.k.a. Ghost) - an assassin for the Bratva, he has gained a reputation as the best and is a legend in the Bratva. He wants revenge against the guy who killed his brother. Kage gives him information on Declan O’Donnell. I could still be OK with it if they tried BDSM one or two times to spice things up etc but EVERY TIME they had sex, it was the same BDSM shit!How the hell does a twenty-something yoga instructor who barely scraped through college, has never had a long-term boyfriend, and looks like she buys her clothes at a Tinker Bell estate sale get so confident? Sloane was a terrible sister and self centered bitch who may or may not slept with Riley's bf after he dumped her on her bday. I really felt bad for Riley.😩 Still don't get it why this was written but okay.. The writing flows as in all her books. Ms Geissinger has a talent for captivating writing and I always appreciate that. The heroine: Riley (a.k.a. smalls, little bird) - sister to Sloane from Carnal Urges. Riley is a freelance book editor because she loves reading and it allows her to work from home. She is not a people person so it works for her. She grew up jealous of her tall gorgeous sister who at one point stole a boyfriend from her and they haven’t seen each other since. Trusting men like him is what gets women like me killed. But there’s something both powerful and undeniable that draws me to him. An irresistible natural force, like gravity. He knelt next to my bed and took my face in his big rough hand, and my heart opened like a flower. Clearly, I have the same brains god gave a flea. I loved the banter and chemistry between these two. I loved Malek's intensity and unwilling attraction to Riley. And I absolutely loved Riley's fierceness. This book delivered on all the things I've come to love from this author. And then there's the set up for Spider's book and I AM IN NEED. Can't wait for the next installment. So many golden moments, I thoroughly enjoyed this. A little drama, amazing banter and plenty of heat. Declan had no idea what hit him. Admittedly Sloane was crazy, but sometimes in life you must be your own champion.When he slides inside me, I gasp and arch. A lone tear slides down my temple. In a husky voice, he says into my ear, “Daddy’s home.” Natalie is a middle school art teacher who’s fiancé disappeared 5 yrs ago the day before their wedding. She’s given up on love & battles depression on a daily basis with the ghost of wondering what happened to her fiancé constantly haunting her. Although she’s had a couple of short term meaningless relationships she finds herself closed off to everyone except her witty smart mouthed best friend Sloane. Okay,” I say, looking into his searching eyes. “But just because I’m not freezing you out doesn’t mean I’m not breaking vases inside my head.” The sooner this is over, the better. I’ve known her for all of two hours - half of that while she was unconscious - and I’m ready to shoot myself in the face. The plot was all over the place. There were so many plot points in this book where I was reading the scene and there was this big question mark in my brain... What was this whole point of Sloane fainting and being in the hospital and getting fake pregnancy news. It was random and weird.

That’s it, isn’t it?” I'm weird like that, but I'm counting how long it takes until the main characters meet and interact for the first time. That's why I know it took 15% til Riley and Malek interact. It doesn't sound that long, but it felt like forever. Idk if that's the reason why their romance was just 'okay', but I still liked some of their earlier banter.How is it possible that I adored Sloane in her book but couldn’t stand her in this? Yeah, Riley didn’t paint a pretty picture but it was Sloane herself that annoyed the crap out of me. Honestly, her sister wasn’t much better. Savage Hearts is the third book in the Queens & Monsters series and I don't know how it can continue to be this good. I was sure no book could hold a candle to Carnal Urges. Sloane and Declan captured my heart so fully, I didn't know if anyone could compete. Then Riley and Mal came steam rolling onto my kindle. This one had a good story with Sloane being outgoing and amiable, yet talkative and Declan being grumpy and often frustrated with her. Especially since he just can’t figure out how well she takes everything that happens to her. She is kidnapped, shot at and more and she takes everything in stride while making friends with stoic gangsters along the way.
