About this deal

Beneath Dante’s debauchery is a good man who would do anything to help the poor and dispossessed. This is absolutely vital for a Dante live-action show to get right. I think that showing someone who is by no means the most powerful person in his universe. But who retains a desire to do the right thing would be incredible to show on TV. Obviously, the writers would have to strike a balance between Dante’s roguishness and his kindness. Which done right could make fantastic television.

Large and in Charge: Konstantin is physically larger than the rest of his siblings. In any other work, he would actually count as a Heroic Build and he actually resembles Superman. This especially counts in his Lord Protector armour. Do Not Call Me Eugenia: Jena's full name in Eugenia Vladimirovna Makarova. Simon Fraser asked a Russian friend to help him come up with a suitably pompous sounding name for her for Nikolai to make fun of. It took him until "Sword Of The Tsar" to convince Robbie Morrison to use it.

Graphic Novels / Nikolai Dante

How could you believe me when I said I loved you when you know I've been a liar all my life?" (with John Burns, in 2000 AD #1428–1431, 2005)

The Arrowverse’s first Mxyzptlk would be a great Dante in my opinion. He has the charisma and the almost tongue in cheek rakishness to pull off the Russian rogue. I also feel Gadiot could deliver the darker and more serious scenes as evidenced by his work in Queen of the South. I wonder perhaps if this actor might not deliver such a loud and brash Dante as Gyllenhaal or Farrell. That part of the character has to come across so that he’s not just a generic rogue. Against that, Gadiot certainly looks the part and is young enough to cope with Dante’s action scenes. Dante's own revolution ends this way. While the empire finally achieves peace and stability with Dante poised to become Tsar, he loses many friends and loved ones along the way, including his mother. Vlad, for his part, leaves one final parting gift for Nikolai by planting the seed of doubt by telling Nikolai that he has to be worse than he ever was. Sir Richard Hawksmoore – former Tsarist warrior turned mercenary, obsessed with Jena Makarov. He secretly conspires with Mikhail Deriabin to kidnap Jena and start a civil war between Tsar Vladimir the Conqueror and the Romanovs so they can take power when the war is over. Unfortunately for both of them, Dante goes as Jena's personal bodyguard. Vladimir Makarov may have overthrown Ivan the Oppressor and killed him with his bare hands, but Dmitri Romanov challenges him to a duel for the title of Tsar. This duel also ends up following this trope, as Jocasta leaves Vlad over it. Dragon Their Feet: Major Elizabeth Hawksmoore and Konstantin Romanov outlive their master, Dmitri Romanov.

Another feature was the torture garden. The “trees” in this small forest were mineral in appearance, and presented numerous jagged edges and spikes.
