All of the mutations and deletions used to create mini-G s are located within conserved regions of the Gα subunit ( Fig 2). Therefore, in theory, these mutations were potentially transferable to the other Gα families, allowing the production of a panel of mini-G proteins capable of coupling to any GPCR.
