About this deal

This paper has a repeating texture that looks like the surface of an orange. This texture hides minor scratches and scuffs from wear and handling and has a lower direct reflection of light to the viewer. This makes for less glare or shine and makes the image easier to see from all angles. Standard Archival Value of 100 years in home display; 200 years in dark storage. Metallic paper ICC (International Color Consortium) profiles ensure that the right mix of inks is used to maximize color fidelity for any given own-brand paper with a particular ink set. It’s an important issue because different papers have varying whiteness and react with ink in different ways. Indeed, ultra-white papers sometimes include optical brighteners, similar to those used in laundry detergents, which react with UV light to give a super-bright appearance. The downside is that stability is less good over time, so they’re typically not used in archival and ‘fine art’ media. And, in fact, some of the different terms to describe finishes actually have the same meaning; they’re just used by different brands! Seeking the best printer for your business? Hit your productivity targets with inkjet and laser printers that are a perfect fit for any workspace – including home offices.

Professional photographers often feel that printing their own images enables them to show their photos in the way they want them to be seen, rather than being at the mercy of random and possibly badly adjusted monitor screens, tablets and even smartphones, owned by their clients. What are the different types of photo paper? As with printer manufacturers’ own-brand papers, Canson and Hahnemühle offer ICC profiles for a huge range of inkjet printers, to ensure the utmost accuracy and fidelity. What are the standard paper sizes? Glossy paper is also more likely to attract dust and fingerprints and is thus more likely to get dirty over time. Standard Archival Value of 100 years in home display; 200 years in dark storage. Matte Metallic printing gives an almost 3D appearance in person. They have a shiny surface that does not produce the same level of glare as glossy prints, but can be susceptible to fingerprints. This means they can be positioned near windows or other light sources, while still remaining viewable.Luster paper and pearl paper, like satin paper and semi-gloss paper, are just two names for the same thing. Compatible with any inkjet printer, Arctic Polar Luster fits an important niche for professional photographers. Increasingly, pros and enthusiasts require a high-end photo feel product that combines quality and consistent usability. Unlike many of the new boutique photo papers flooding the market, this Luster will feed consistently, withstand handling, show minimal fingerprinting, and offer cost savings. It’s been a bit over-used in the marketing world, yet still can’t be beaten for its color vibrancy and dynamic contrast. If you want to frame a photo and get good visibility, you should go for a matte print. Or try a metallic finish if a modern, minimalist style is what you want. Your choice of lustre vs. glossy is partly subjective. But some finishes work best for certain kinds of photos or situations.

Lustre prints are ideal for softer images, such as wedding photos or other romantic and sentimental snaps. The semi-gloss finish and premium texture also suit your more artistic shots, so lustre photos are regularly used by professional photographers. How will you use your photo? Pearl finish is very much like lustre but slightly shinier. This finish is usually a good choice for printing landscapes. The gloss in the paper makes the colors more vibrant without being too reflective. Promaster Pearl inkjet photo paper ( 4×6″ and 8.5×11″) is our top recommendation for this kind of photo paper. Because they open fully, lay-flat books are much easier to use and enjoy – especially when it comes to viewing images. So while glossy is a viable option, it’s often better to consider one of these other photo printing paper types: Satin/Semi-Gloss Paper

Lustre is a textured paper, if you turn it to its side and look very closely (maybe even with a magnifying glass), you should be able to see what look like little “bubbles”. These little “bubbles” create a texture that can pull into the matte direction. Yet these prints are still smooth enough to be a little bit reflective. Complicated, I know, but bear with me. Glossy photos are one of the most popular print finishes. It is one you usually get when you print your family photos.
