Pipkins are asked to put on a play. This they all want to do, trouble is that they all want to be the star! Hartley however, knows who is going to write it…. He is! Octavia, a sophisticated ostrich with a French accent, brought an air of grace and charm to the programme. As one of the few female characters, Octavia often played the role of the voice of reason amongst the group. Topov has seen a lot of giants in picture books. But he is sad because he never meets them in real life. But then Tortoise has an idea... Every time the phone rings, Hartley can’t find it, and by the time he does, it’s in a different place. A case for Inspector Pig……Charlie plans to help an old lady he knows... he's going to make her a nice hot meal.All goes well until Bertha arrives and takes over in the kitchen. When a visitor arrives at Pipkins he is given food and drink as a treat.
