It is advisable that no other USB devices are connected to your computer. Select the correct COM port where the vLinker FS is connected. If there are multiple usb devices connected to your pc, you will need to determine which one is correct from the Device Manager. These are the modules available to you in ELMConfig, most of them are pretty self explanatory. Not all modules will be fitted to all cars, for example, only the Kuga will have the AWD module. If your car doesn’t have a module, it doesn’t mean that it can’t be fitted and the functionality added to your car. There have been success stories of people adding cruise control to cars, and enabling it using ELMConfig. MS-CAN GEM a lot of configurations altered (chime beeping continuously in reverse gear; speed warning chime at 120 km/h; the 5 km/h offset is gone; the engine is cutting off at 7000 RPM – normally it could run up to 8000 RPM – ; I got an extra menu item, “hill launch assist”, which would be nice, if it would work)

you need to first cut 6 wires about 3 amp will do approx 6 inches long , different colours would be better , if not then mark them individually (14 , 11 , 6 , 3 , Hcan , and Mcan. I've explicitly set the adapter to use 500,000bps in ELMConfig, and it confirms that setting in the window titlebar. I worked on a lot of cars, and I really mean a LOT! I started tinkering with cars in high school. My experience allowed me to test drive and diagnosis a multitude of makes and models, including prestigious German cars. I became particularly fond of the OBD2 system on modern cars. If your vehicle is 1996 or newer, you have an OBD2-compatible car. Without the OBD2 diagnostic system, it will be extremely hard to pinpoint the nuances in your car’s engine. When something goes wrong, it will all turn into a time-consuming guessing game. Do read these forums and guides first for any problems, particularly in setting up the program and modifying the interface. Not got my switch yet , but i re-configured the ELM 327 , 6 wires , joined the required wires for Hcan bus. You cannot read and erase error codes with this software. It does mostly same stuff as ELMconfig but has a different selection of vehicles. Do not use this software if you are not sure what you are doing. Forscan works on most Ford vehicles up most recent ones. DTC reading-erasing, service procedures, injector coding, DPF force regeneration and lot more. And it is FREE. Works on all Windows versions and some other operating systems as well. The software is updated often, new features added several times a month! love the post about follow the instructions to the letter. I have NEVER seen a complete set of instructions... that's the whole problem.

I have a Ford Focus MK2 2.0 l petrol car. I tried for curiosity to write the odometer on my car, I was able to increase the km value, but not to decrease it from the “odometer write” menu. Than I tried to use the menu under IC programming, called “write odometer value in km” or so. As I wrote the former value from this menu, the decreasing also didn’t succeeded, but many problems came instead of.The Elm interface, unmodified, can access modules within the car that uses the high speed CAN-BUS (HS-CAN) but can be rewired to access modules using the medium speed CAN-BUS (MS-CAN). The modification using a switch enables you to access both systems easily. In Elmconfig, each module is listed under each bus speed as required.
