About this deal

The infused whiskey is so strong that you can use it like an extract, mixing it with others liquors for what’s known as a “compound liquor”. For example, start mixing the cherry whisky with 1:4 parts dry white wine, adding cherry gastrique, or some burnt sugar for sweetness, along with a vanilla bean and a few peels or orange rind. Traditionally, whiskey sours are made with 80-proof bourbon which adds a touch of oak that doesn't overpower the sweet vs sour combination.

The finished product is much different than something like cassis, which includes sugar. It's hard to describe, but it tastes eerily like the good part of cherry cough syrup I remember having as a kid. From the classic Cherry Martini to the bold and spicy Cherry Bourbon Smash, there is no shortage of delicious drinks to choose from.If you want to chill your drink without diluting it, invest in some whiskey stones, which are typically made of nonporous soapstone. Keep them in your freezer and use them instead of ice. Garnish– I used Luxardo cherries for my garnish. Again, avoid the bright red, cheap maraschino cherries if possible.A lemon wedge works great as a garnish too! Amaretto– I use Disaronno whenever I use amaretto as it doesn’t completely break the bank and tastes good. Amaretto can be found at any liquor store.

All of these whiskeys are going to taste great, but what is your preferred way to drink it? Do you want to be able to drink it neat? If so, it should be delicious to sip on its own, the flavors detectable. Are you more inclined to use it in a mixed drink capacity? If so, you might want a whiskey whose flavors are prominent or that can stand up to other ingredients.

More on Cherry

The French Manhattan is a dapper spin-off of the original, containing Bisquit Dubouché Cognac and Grand Marnier , along with Cinzano Vermouth Rosso and a few dashes of bitters. Garnished with maraschino cherries, it’s a captivating drink that never disappoints. 10. Three Dots and a Dash

Price is always a consideration, and it's no different when you buy a specialty spirit. How much are you willing to spend? You could use your whole budget on one bottle, or buy a few and experiment to see which one you enjoy the most. But what is the difference between a Manhattan and an Old Fashioned? How do you make each drink? And which is better? A few years ago at Johnnie Walker’s swanky brand home on Princes Street in Edinburgh, I took a test to see what kind of whisky was best suited to my palate. I answered all kinds of questions, the answers were fed into the state of the art whisky computer and the results came out… I like tropical fruit. Well, I could have told it that. It’s not just lemon I can detect, there’s a whole smorgasbord of citrus here like tangerine, mandarin, and orange in Clynelish’s flagship bottling. Combine that with its classic waxy, oily texture and you have one of the great bargains of the whisky world – it’s essentially a baby Brora. Apple

Glenrothes Distillery is always a dependable destination for lovers of fruity single malts. This sherried 12-year-old expression is a veritable fruit salad with not just pears but also melon, apple and a little orange peel alongside chocolate, old leather, dried herbs, and tobacco. Cherry You think Ardbeg is all about fierce peat? Well take another sniff and you can’t help notice that it has a strong limey note. It’s there in the new make and it carries through every expression but it’s particularly apparent in the classic 10-year-old bottling along with vanilla, smoke, and seaspray. Apricot There are a few different types of cherry whiskey that are available on the market. One type is made with sour cherries, while another type is made with sweet cherries. There is also a type of cherry whiskey that is made with a blend of both sour and sweet cherries. whiskey– I recommend using your favorite rye whiskey here! You can seek out Laws Secale Straight Rye or just choose your favorite that you love to drink. this recipe’s must-haves Unlike cough syrup, this is one "robodrink" (a reference to consuming Robitussin as a narcotic) I can feel good about enjoying. Here’s a few things where it would be good. Use IdeasWe say: Fernet Branca adds an almost smoky note to the rye, Yellow Chartreuse and cherry brandy combo. A great bittersweet after-dinner digestif. This is a question that has been asked for many years, with no definitive answer. Some say that adding a cherry to an old fashioned is blasphemy, while others say it is a must. So, what is the right answer? Flavor– The oaky bourbon whiskey pairs perfectly with the fresh cherries and amaretto for a perfect balance of sweet, sour, and nutty. With: Scotch whisky, Islay single malt, Cherry Heering cherry brandy, kirsch eau-de-vie, sweet vermouth, dry vermouth and orange juice.
