The 2024 WR styling isn’t “radically updated” as Yamaha would have you believe but it is sweet with a turquoise edge helping the graphics stand out on the otherwise “icon blue” coloured panels. I ended up using one to supply power to LED lighting on my workbench and the fan was loud enough to be heard across the room, noticeably louder than the printer itself, and I ended fabricating a custom cover for a large noctua fan. Used NSS a few times now. Always the authentic part delivered in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend
The key change on the new frame is the repositioned header pipe 15mm lower than previously. Modified tank rails with a new U-shaped profile at the rear means the 2024 aluminium bilateral frame gives a lower centre of gravity for more agile cornering. It doesn't serve the purpose of turning the PSU on or off and so it's not useful for purposes of reset.Having an enclosed printer is great for ABS, so I went with the Tusklands Boar model to test the ABS printing performance of the QIDI X-MAX. The printer managed to finish the model successfully, but as you can see there are print quality issues for the big overhangs. Considering that the model was printed with no supports, I think the printer did a decent job. With a bit more tuning, the print quality can be better.
