Barefoot Scale — With a flexible 5.5mm sole, the Amuri Z Trek is great for experienced minimalist runners and excellent for hikers/campers of all skill levels. Speak with a podiatrist about trying less built-up shoes if you think your problems might be related to your choice of shoes. You may need to ease into wearing minimalist footwear by starting off with very short distances. Overall you’ll need to listen to your body and see how it adapts to a change in footwear. The science behind the barefoot choice However, if you have wide feet like mine, you may have some difficulty with the Z-Trek for a number of reasons. The Z-Trek is our only sandal that fits larger than expected for many customers. For example, many customers who are a size 9 in the Genesis, Cloud and Z-Trail are a size 8 in the Z-Trek.

The Z-Trek and Z-Trail come in wider widths for men’s sizes and narrower widths for women’s sizes. However, many men with narrow feet find a great fit in the women’s sizes, and many women with wider feet find a great fit in the men’s sizes. Lots of people have been cutting off their heel cups and the choice is yours. The only real issues I can think of is that you may end up with some jagged rubber bits and since the heel cup actually takes up some horizontal space on the sandal, you might end up shortening the heel section too much when you remove the cup. If your hikes are shorter (1-3 days) with loads around 25lbs or less, or you’ll also bring hiking shoes or boots the Z-trail is a viable option hiking option. Forza Runner – The Forza Runner runs small. We recommend choosing 1/2 size larger than your usual size.* Women interested in exchanging their “gladiator sandals” for something functional enough to hike and run inThe Pah Tempe, like other Unshoes sandals, has many different shapes to find the best fit, while the Z-Trek has only the two shapes—one for men and one for women. Both sandals have sizing templates online so you can print out and test with your feet on the floor. Currently, the Pah Tempe in its latest generation has six templates/shapes for each size. Here's how: The straps are definitely well attached because I tripped up on a big U-shaped nail one day, which wedged itself right through the front of my Xero sandals. With my body weight flying forward, there would have been a fair bit of force through the strap attachments, but the sandals seemed to cope just fine!

The Z Trail barefoot sandals are a multifunctional lightweight sandal. They can be used as minimalist hiking sandals and minimalist running sandals. They’re also great for casual and comfortable everyday wear. The second major difference is sole design – each of the other flagship minimalist sandal soles are crafted from a single piece of rubber. Sizing

Prio – Men– On August 9th, 2019 we updated the sizing for the Men’s Prio, it now fits true to size.* Because of the 3-strap system over your foot, and a heel strap, they can be very secure. I give my toes max room, cinch up the rest, and walk around in these like I have a glove on my feet. They don’t droop at all and that feels great. Aqua Cloud – The Aqua Cloud fits true to size. Lugged Sole designed from tire rubber stays durable and grips in all conditions: The soles are designed from car tire rubber made to last 5,000 miles with an effective chevron lugged pattern for increased traction Soles made from car tires last and grip every step of the way: The soles are seriously designed from car tire rubber, called “Feel True Rubber”, inspired by some makeshift sandals that a pair of Tarahamura Indians made during a race from rope and an old car tire that they salvaged. The soles have been updated with a section of “Feel True Foam” which adds comfort on trails without compromising the “5,000 mile” durability standard. The Genesis and the original Cloud are unisex styles. For example a men’s 7 is the same exact shoe as a women’s 8. Interestingly enough, the Z-Treks are a bit quieter than other Amuri sandals, such as the Amuri Venture and Cloud. This is most likely because the Z-Trek is a more stable sandal than its sister huarache-inspired sandals because of its anchor points and toepost-less design. These are great sandles. The sole feels protective and has great traction. The design is simple and looks to be very roboust. Be sure to confirm your size with the printable templates below.* Unlike most soles in the barefoot sandal market, the FeelTrue sole is not a flat slab of rubber. Instead, all FeelTrue soles from the DIY sandal line to the entire range of Amuri sandals (Venture, Cloud, and now the Z-Trek) feature a hint of toe spring (seen here), a subtle arch ( here) and heel cup ( here), and elevated anchor points for straps and webbing. The countered sections below the heel, arch, and toes do not provide any structural support, but are engineered to hug your foot during movement. Speed Force– The Speed Force runs small.
