About this deal

A comprehensive set of interchangeable grinding plates is available for the handle body: Diamond plates with grits of 220, 320, 400, 600 and 800, as well as a fine-grained ceramic plate for repairing, sharpening and honing . The leather strop refines and polishes the blade for optimal results, while another ceramic rod is specially designed for sharpening serrated blades. I’ve been particularly nasty to my Sniper Bladeworks MAMU. I most recently used it to dig up a blueberry bush in the woods in the rain. After a few swipes with the strops and less than five minutes of work, I was able to return the edge to its original, intimidating, factory-whetted edge. Includes seven (7) abrasive grits: 220, 320, 400, 600, and 800 diamond, Fine Ceramic, Leather Strop

Overall, the new Worksharp Professional Precision Adjust Model is built to be more sturdy. There are more metal parts involved in its construction, and the clamps are incredibly secure versus the previous precision adjust model. It is also a feature-rich upgrade with the Small Knife Table (which I haven’t even experimented with yet) and the digital angle indicator. The Worksharp Professional Precision Adjust system is my go-to because it helps with the most important variable of knife sharpening: Getting the proper angle for your blade’s edge and maintaining it throughout the entire sharpening process. (The new digital angle indicator really makes this a breeze) From repair work to reprofiling your favorite EDC to stropping a mirror polish onto any edge – this sharpener provides the pinnacle of edge performance. Having used Work Sharp’s Precision Adjust Knife Sharpener (PAKS) for the last year and sharpened around 50 knives with it, I was blown away by the PPAKS the minute I took it out of the box and set it up. Using the knob on top of the sharpening system, you infinitely adjust a sharpening angle from 15 to 30 degrees. Enough to sharpen almost any knife! The sharpening system shows you the sharpening angle of the clamp on the left side in steps of 5 degrees. The sharpening system shows you the sharpening angle of the sharpening table on the left side in steps of 5 degrees. Clamp Stabilizing platform (Clamp Stabilizer) for increased stability when sharpening larger knives.

It really does pay to have the ability to be precise with angles. Most new knives will fall into one category of angles. EDC knives, for example, usually have a 20- to 25-degree angle, whereas larger Outdoor knives can be 25- to 30-degree. Thanks to revised adjustment options, the required sharpening angle can be set between 15° and 35° in no time at all, while an additional digital spirit level with an accuracy of 0.25° ensures precise and reproducible results. This Precision Adjust features 3 abrasives built into a rotating rod. The first is a coarse diamond (320 grit) that can be used on dull or damaged knives. The medium diamond (600 grit) refines the edge. The fine ceramic will put a very fine edge on your knife. To switch grits, you simply rotate the rod to expose the desired grit. The Work Sharp Precision Adjust Knife Sharpener can be set to any angle between 15 and 30 degrees. Unlike systems that have a few holes to approximate the angle you want, the Precision Adjust has a knob to adjust your angle. If you want to add an extra degree or two, you simply turn the knob. The WorkSharp Professional Precision Adjust is a complete angle adjustable knife sharpening system using metal construction, a digital angle indicator, and seven abrasive grits to bring rigidity, repeatability, and precision to your knife sharpening needs. The sharpening angle easily adjusts from 15 to 30 Degrees using a digital angle indicator to accurately and repeatably set your sharpening angle. The 1” x 6” abrasives include a full assortment: 220, 320, 400, 600, and 800 grit diamond, a ceramic honing plate, and a leather strop that polishes your edge to mirror sharp. As mentioned above in my Knife News piece, the biggest improvement is how the knife can be flipped around to the other side just by pressing the red button, rather than removing the clamp from the unit base. The hone slides along the guide rod easily, and you can set the range of motion with a couple of small rubber stoppers included on the rod. Intelligink Pty Ltd trading as Knife Shop Australia will take reasonable steps to keep secure any personal information which we hold and to keep this information accurate and up to date. Personal information is stored in a secure server or secure files. I found the unit to be intuitive to set up and use, and the results were impressive across the range of knives I tested. I did try it on a “beater” chef’s knife, where I had to tilt the chasis, but that required both hands and I was unable to photograph it myself.

Speaking of the original Worksharp Precision Adjust Sharpener, this has been my favorite system since it launched. However, I believe it will be sitting on the sidelines for a while…Because the Worksharp Professional Precision Adjust Model is a very significant upgrade! The PPAKS is both easy to set up and easy to use. Included with this model is a rubberized work mat that serves both as a clean work surface and a reference guide. It breaks out all the parts of the PPAKS as well as an explanation of grind angles, recommended angles based on knife types, blade anatomy, and which sharpening plates to use based on the condition of the knife edge you’re working on. In most cases, you can gain access to the personal information that Intelligink Pty Ltd trading as Knife Shop Australia holds about you, subject to some exceptions allowed by law.The Work Sharp Professional Precision Adjust Knife Sharpener is the new benchmark for manual knife sharpening.

Being able to hone in on that angle, and maintain it, allows you to keep your knife sharp year after year. But after a while, when your knife is old and tired, you may need to adjust that angle to compensate for blade wear. That’s where the ability to measure down to a tenth or hundredth really shines. Furthermore, based on how easy it is to use, you can mess around with angles on the PPAKS without really screwing the edge up. Includes seven (7) abrasive grits: 220, 320, 400, 600, and 800 grit diamond, Fine Ceramic, and Leather Strop The Knife Clamp Collet is built to securely and carefully hold your knife. Your knife is clamped in with jaws that feature a layer of rubber between your knife and the clamp. This extra layer of projection ensures your valuable knife won't get scratched, but it still held tight. The wheel closes the jaws, no tools are needed to secure your knife to the clamp. To establish and maintain your relationship as a customer of Intelligink Pty Ltd tradingas Knife Shop Australia I have not yet tried the small knife table. Mostly because all my small slipjoints are currently in pretty good shape and I usually just touch them up with a ceramic rod. But when I do, I will post an update. I also have an old fillet knife that I would like to try, simply to see how the unit can handle the odd length and shape.
