a b Casamassina, Matt (March 18, 2008). "SEGA Superstars Tennis Review (Wii)". IGN. Archived from the original on May 6, 2016 . Retrieved September 16, 2016. Thomas, Aaron (March 25, 2008). "Sega Superstars Tennis Review (DS)". GameSpot. Archived from the original on February 19, 2019 . Retrieved September 16, 2016. Thing is, I don't hate it either. In fact, the Wii remote controls work pretty well, the selection of characters and courts is sure to please most SEGA fans, and while the volleys aren't nearly as deep or as strategic as they are in Virtua Tennis, they can still be enjoyable, particularly with multiple human players. a b Bramwell, Tom (March 18, 2008). "SEGA Superstars Tennis (Xbox 360)". Eurogamer. Archived from the original on September 19, 2012 . Retrieved September 16, 2016. Quotes from Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) were used in this game such as " My, that's a pretty snazzy performance there!" (Sonic), " Who are you, and how do you know my name?" (Shadow) and " See, I told you I could do it!" (Tails).

Sonic Rush (2005) · Sonic Rush Adventure (2007) · Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (2008) · Sega Superstars Tennis (2008) · Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood (2008) · Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games (2009) · Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing (2010) · Sonic Classic Collection (2010) · Sonic Colors (2010) NiGHTS: All Round type - NiGHTS' Superstar state, Nightopian, grants them some Nightopians and makes the ball paraloop. When returned it teleports the returning player around the court. The third control method takes the physical activity out of play. You hold the Wii Remote in the horizontal, NES position and use the +Control Pad to move and the 1 and 2 Buttons to swing. To hit special shots, you’ll press the 1 and 2 Buttons in combination with each other. It also feels like the team has stripped down the simulation aspect of Virtua Tennis in favor of a design that'd appeal to players who might be turned off by a realistic take of tennis. That's not to say that SEGA Superstars Tennis doesn't play like tennis; it definitely does. You can place hard shots, lobs, play the net and overhand smash the ball with a well positioned shot. You can aim your serves tight or loose to the line to ace your opponent. You can dive for an out of reach ball, even if the animation plays out the character's personality (Sonic does a forward flip instead of sliding to the ball, for example). Jet Set Radio: The player gets a spray color from a grinding man how throws them at you, when you get those time by time, you are to hit the ball across the net in to an opacity graffiti to match its colors. With the Wii Remote, you can swing, lob and serve for an immersive, engaging tennis experience. You’ll play as one of 16 of your favourite SEGA characters on 10 unique courts inspired by SEGA classics, ranging from Sonic's lush Green Hill Zone to the galactic Space Channel 5 world to the chequered Super Monkey Ball world.

Minigames are included as both one-offs and part of the tournament. These include a Target-hitting game, The House of the Dead zombie killing game (hit moving zombies around a court before the timer runs out), a Space Harrier game, a Puyo Puyo game, a Virtua Cop game and a Samba De Amigo-related game. Groups +It seems his recent athletic clash with Mario has rubbed off on Sonic: here he is with fifteen friends in a brightly coloured, special move-filled variation on good old lawn tennis, not unlike the plumber’s N64, Game Boy Advance and Gamecube outings, on the surface at least. This isn’t a simple formula rip, however: this is pure Sega through and through, from the blue skies to the vibrant Richard Jacques theme, but will it appeal to those whose Sega knowledge starts and ends with a hedgehog? Sega Superstars Tennis is a tennis game by Sumo Digital released for the Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS and Mac. Beat: Speed type - His Superstar state, Graffiti Floor, spray paints grafitti on the opponents side of the court causing them to slip when trying to move. Additionally Beat's shots shoot at erratic angles, and a GG member appears to grind across the net with a boombox.

a b c d e f g h Thomas, Aaron (March 24, 2008). "Sega Superstars Tennis Review (PS2, PS3, Wii, X360)". GameSpot. Archived from the original on September 23, 2019 . Retrieved September 16, 2016. In addition to characters from the Sonic universe, you’ll also get a chance to play as such characters as NiGHTS, AiAi from Super Monkey Ball, Ulala from Space Channel 5, Amigo from Samba De Amigo and Beat from Jet Grind Radio. SEGA Superstars Tennis was ported to MAC along with Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing. However, SEGA Superstars Tennis was never released on PC. Although a PS3 version of the game is available, the PS2 is incompatible to the PS3's first and second generation models, making Sega Superstars Tennis one of the only two PlayStation 2 Games (along with Sega Superstars) that are incompatible with the PlayStation 3. Space Harrier: In this minigame, the player must throw the ball against a number of series of robot, alien, machines and meteorites the constantly come time by time when difficulty increases.

Shadow the Hedgehog: Speed type - His Superstar state, Super Shadow, makes him transform into Super Shadow. His shots are now infused with Chaos Control, teleporting the opponent across the court when they return the ball. Carrier Zone ( After Burner): Includes cameos from workers, pilots and the F-14 Tomcat the player pilots in After Burner. There is also a tournament option, in which you can choose from a maximum of sixteen teams. There is also a mode called regular season, which is quite similar to the franchise mode, except that it does not have an off-season portion. Holding aloft its new baby, SEGA proudly stormed the gates of EG towers (we do have towers now - did you see the press release?) to give us a hands-on with a near-complete 360 build of the game, currently looking good for a mid-March release on about 97 platforms. Okay, five: 360, PS3, Wii, DS and (uhuh) PS2. "No PSP or PC?" you cry. "Where's the love?" That's meant to be a tennis joke. Sega Superstars (2004, PS2) · Sega Superstars Tennis (2008, multi-platform) · Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing (2010, multi-platform) · Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed (2012, multi-platform)
