About this deal

Our one complaint about its predecessor, the Revival Uno, was that it didn't have Bluetooth connectivity. That problem has been resolved with the Uno BT- that's what the "BT" in the name stands for. Pairing up a device is nice and straightforward, and once you've done it once, the Uno BT will remember it from then on, and will usually connect automatically. As soon as you take the Revival Uno BT out of its box, you’re sure to notice the high-quality finish and build quality. Enhancing this radio’s versatility still further, you’ll find a 3.5mm AUX input. Use this to plug in any source with an output, such as a TV, projector or CD player. For private listening, there’s also a 3.5mm headphone output.

Compact and unashamedly retro in design, the Roberts Uno BT draws on its genuine 1950s heritage to stand out from the crowd. Despite its vintage appearance, however, the Uno BT has everything you’d expect from a twenty-first century portable. Bluetooth connectivity, DAB/FM tuners and an alarm are all built-in. With the choice of mains or battery power, you can even listen outside.

Revival Origins

The one part of the radio that differs from vintage Roberts models is the control panel on the top. There's an LED screen, along with two control wheels- one for the volume, and one for selecting stations. There are also some additional buttons above the screen for switching modes, setting presets, and so on. On the plus side, Roberts consistently proves that a small radio doesn’t have to mean limited sound.

With its solid cabinet and powerful amplifier, the Uno BT has a more powerful and richer sound than a typical portable radio. Famously good with speech but also surprisingly dynamic with music, listening to the Revival Uno BT is always a pleasure. Additionally, one great thing we love about the Revival is that you can change the station or volume using rotary controls – which just feels a lot more user-friendly.You can also access Bluetooth streaming with this radio. Therefore, you can stream music directly from your smartphone. If you’ve got one particular station that you listen to above all else, then you can save that to a one-touch favourite button. The process works just like the presets, but with instant access to your station of choice.

As you’d expect from a smaller radio, the Uno has less power and can’t go as loud. It could be a good choice for a bedroom or other small, quiet room, while the RD70 would be a better choice if you need something loud. Fitted with DAB+, DAB and FM tuners, the Roberts Revival Uno BT is well equipped for tuning into a wide range of radio stations. DAB+ and DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) give you access to the widest range of stations, in crisp and clear digital sound quality. In case your favourite stations aren't available in DAB, the Uno BT is also equipped with an FM tuner. Combining the best in vintage looks with modern sound and tech, the Roberts Revival Uno BT plays your music in timeless style. For FM radio stations, ensure the telescopic aerial is fully extended. Long-press the mode button and release it when the FM mode is selected. The audio quality overall is great although there is some muffling to voices no matter where the tone controls are set, when the volume is below 12 the sound becomes muddy and boomy, I find bass-4 and treble-1 to be best for low volume levels and at normal volumes bass at -3 for FM/DAB. Audio through headphones is also fantastic with the above audio settings, all sources are in stereo including Bluetooth. One of the nice things about this radio and others in the Revival range is that you change the station and adjust the volume using old-fashioned rotary controls rather than pushing buttons. Even if you’re listening to the radio using the latest DAB+ technology, you’ll feel like you’re using a classic radio from the 1950s. After that, rotate the tuning knob and then press the auto-tune button. The radio will scan for the available FM stations and stop when it finds an option with excellent signal coverage. This cute and compact revival radio isn’t going to be the all-in-one home system you’ve been looking for. If you’re searching for something that’s all-singing and all-dancing, look elsewhere. It is worth mentioning that the new Roberts Revival UNO BT can be powered either by an external power supply unit or simply by four standard AA batteries. This makes the Roberts Revival UNO BT extremely flexible, as it can be used anywhere, even when travelling. Various colours available Even as one of the least expensive options in the Revival range, it’s easy to say that the Uno is quite expensive for what it is. You’re really just paying for the retro design and the Roberts brand name.

It can create more than acceptable tones at just about any volume, particularly for spoken word. If you love listening to podcasts and talk shows, this is a great radio. This radio is very compact (20.7 cm wide), and you need to be aware of this before buying as you’ll be disappointed if you’re expecting something larger. The small size makes it very easy to carry around the house and garden, and you can power it with AA batteries so it works well as a portable radio.Menus have some great features including adjustable snooze time for the alarm, bass/treble controls, display brightness can be adjusted to a very dim level suitable for bedside use unlike the old uno the uno bt can also be dimmed while powered on, the display light can’t be switched off but the ‘off’ setting is very dim and doesn’t disturb me on the bedside table. Prices valid in stores (all including VAT) until close of business on 27th November 2023. (Some of these web prices are cheaper than in-store, so please mention that you've seen these offers online.) Remember that it’s intended more for style and quality than any boom-box functionality. It’s worth thinking about how you’re going to use your new radio before investing in this one. Roberts Revival Uno review: Verdict The new Roberts Revival UNO BT has been developed for all those who are enthusiastic about design in a vintage look, but still do not want to do without the most modern features. The Roberts Revival UNO BT is a compact solution that fits in every living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom or on the garden veranda and can play music in good quality via radio or from mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. In addition to its radio capabilities, the Roberts Revival Uno BT also functions as a Bluetooth speaker. It can be paired with a smartphone, tablet, or other Bluetooth-enabled devices to play music or other audio content. This provides users with the flexibility to enjoy their favorite music or podcasts without the need for additional speakers or systems.
