There isn’t exactly a ton of character development—the trouble-making characters will pretty much always make trouble—and some of the plots are rather predictable, but at the core is a message of acceptance, both of yourself and of the people you love. Secrets are central in many ways, but they don’t keep secrets from each other or from their parents for very long. Even when they’re nervous about telling the truth, it’s never as bad as they fear. I’ve mentioned my issues with secrets elsewhere, and these books feel like an antidote to that in some ways. SPOILER ALERT: Things you might want to know before suggesting this to your kid Family

Recommendation

As always, the endings are the greatest and exciting parts about this series. It always ends well and good but also leaves a bit of what will happen next in the following book - which makes you excited for it. That's all really. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Characters: Ivy Vega, Olivia Abbott, Sophia Hewitt, Camilla Edmundson, the Beasts (group) Charlotte, Katie and Alison At another point, Lady Veronica, one of the vampires, seems to have a change of heart (which is shown when her eyes suddenly look more human than vampire for once), and admits something she views as important to Sarah and Tim: “But there is a little part of me, of all of us, that keeps a memory of human life, and knows that this life, the vampire life, is false, is empty...” (p. 180)

Of course, when it comes to the mysterious question about the life of a vampire (as well as whether or not it’s supposedly “false” and “empty” as Lady Veronica puts it), no two answers are the same; they’re as different as two snowflakes (meaning the well-known snowflake analogy, to be precise).
