About this deal

Running on misty mornings, wet fallen leaves, and puddles was not a problem for this Mizuno shoe at all! Impressively light To minimize the risk of contracting or spreading coronavirus, all parcels will not require an electronic mobile device signature.

The protection around the ankle is nicely constructed and feels soft. I find this really important for a daily shoe as it tends to be the area that can cause the most rubbing and eventual discomfort. The tongue is well cushioned down to the toe box keeping that area protected. The whole upper feels to be of high quality breathable materials, providing comfort. The whole shoe in general is made from recycled materials which is a real plus, for anyone who cares about the environment. The mesh on the upper, tongue and laces are made from recycled PET ( a form of recycled plastic). The MIZUNO WAVE plate is said to disperse energy from impact to a broader area providing a stable platform and superior cushioning. The wave plate runs the full length of the shoe.

Lastly, the shoe’s weight is great, and it felt on the lighter end of some recent daily trainers I’ve tried. I think the foam helps with this. Stability: A- [Stable Neutral] ( Sidewalls, wide plate and heel counter all provide a solid amount of guidance for a neutral shoe). Compared to the Mizuno Wave Neo Collection, the Wave Rider 26 is more likely to make an appearance on my feet in the future. I will probably wear them more as everyday or work sneakers, not as a running shoe. Lastly, the Mizuno Wave Rider 26 sports a great outsole, one that sort of resembles that of the Pegasus with slightly larger lugs. This increases the versatility of the Wave Rider and allows it to perform just as well on gravel roads and buffed trails as it does on the roads.

My first few runs were like the song Lavender Haze in that it took me a while to get used to the style. The upper is extremely loose out of the box and needs some adjusting to get the right fit, but I got there eventually. I also enjoyed the durable feeling of the recycled material, which remains stretchy and forgiving. It should be noted that the Wave Rider is undoubtedly narrower than, say, a Brooks Ghost, though I didn’t find any issues with it. RUBY: The Wave Rider 26 doesn’t fall too far from the tree. Mizuno has retained its classic thermoplastic Wave Plate squashed between layers of Enerzy foam — right where it should be. The one-two punch makes for a surprisingly responsive ride, even at slower paces. I received the color DIRECTOIRE BLUE-WHITE, not a huge fan but Mizuno has done a great job with offering them in many other colors that will surely please everyone’s taste.Overall: B- (While it didn't work for me, it is a well done high drop daily trainer and may work very well for heel strikers with neutral mechanics) Another thing I noticed was how tight the upper was around my midfoot and toe box. I usually always wear a size 8 but these were very snug and as I mentioned earlier, wished I would have gotten them a half size bigger. Even though the Wave Rider 26 doesn't necessarily feel heavy on the run, keep in mind that it is a little heftier than the average daily trainer (9.7 oz/274g). The Wave Rider 26 is best for middle miles On the outside, a flexible and breathable mesh ensures a good fit to the instep. The absence of seams on the upper and the padded fabric around the ankle minimise chafing and increase the comfort of the shoes. A sole of 10 If you were judging a shoe on looks alone, you’d be forgiven for thinking the Wave Rider 27 would feel heavy and a little flat underfoot. But we're pleased to report that this is a deceptively good – and lightweight – daily trainer.

The lacing system is traditional, no frills and is perfect for this type of training shoe. The laces sit comfortably on top of your foot with the padded tongue. It feels like there is very little chance in them becoming loose whilst on a run.Of course, I’m trying to say that the most successful and brilliant legacy shoes are those that closely resemble Taylor Swift’s career throughout their many, many iterations. Let’s see if the 26th iteration of the Wave Rider measures up. Also, I’m listening to Midnights while writing this, so be prepared for lots of references. Overall: A- ( A really well-executed daily trainer to crush the bulk of your mileage. Good stability throughout with surprising responsiveness. Can be a tad slappy through the midfoot.) Underneath the midsole is the thermoplastic elastomer Wave Plate, which distributes the forces generated during landing, reducing the risk of injury and physical wear and tear during running. My first impression when I opened the box was that I thought they were the Mizuno Wave Inspire 18s. They look very similar to one another and they felt alike. Tip: have you noticed that you overpronate while running or have you been advised to run in corrective running shoes? The Wave Inspire is probably the shoe for you. A comparable shoe, with a correcting Wave plate to limit overpronation.
