When their physical union results in a life-changing event, the two men's hot-and-cold relationship is put to the ultimate test Dojin continues to deserve jail time for his crimes. Truly they would not be in this situation without him. PLUS he basically coerced Hyesung into keeping the baby. So, a selfish bastard apart from a criminal. 0/10 for him.Wholesome in-laws: They were pretty funny. It took them some time to get used to Hyesung, but they really stood behind him in the end and it was actually enjoyable to watch them interact.

I have to say that as far as ABO/Omegaverse stories go, Love Is an Illusion is one of the most stereotypical plots I've seen. It's uhhh about uhhhh an alpha who isn't actually an uhhhh alpha and this fake alpha attracts the attention of a real alpha who H-A-T-E-S omegas and they hook up and blah blah, you get the gist. The story. There was an attempt, but there's really nothing to grasp on. There were some potential bits like Hyesung actually being really good at math to the point of being a prodigy, but it doesn't amount to anything interesting. When you think about it, not much really happens in the story. Surprisingly Mature Ending: Hyesung doesn't forgive either of his parents. He completely shuts his dad out, and he decides to talk with his mom but decides not to forgive her in the end after hearing her out. They don't villainize the mom either, they try to paint her in a more morally grey light. Our parents aren't expected to be perfect role models, but we don't have to forgive them either. I like it.

Yeah, Hyesung can be nice. But Dojin is characterized as an omega-hating bigot at the beginning of the series and I'm not really convinced why he'd fall for Hyesung as opposed to any other "nice" omega. It just makes no sense.

In the beginning, I felt like there could actually happen an interesting “enemies” to lovers kind of narrative — given Park Dojin's newfound interest in Kim Hye-sung and the latter's refusal —, but… to put it simply: Park Dojin's feelings morphing into love are actually so abrupt it just feels like a switch was pulled. It's impossible to find out what got Park Dojin into loving Kim Hye-sung, and even he himself says that he doesn't know why he loves him (lmao). There is not a single romantic scene between them that feels like they have chemistry together. There's not even romantic scenes. //(Worst part is, the side couple have the exact same dynamic going on and it's torturous.)
