Whilst in Fort William it is worth stopping off at The Ben Nevis Distillery for a tour or tasting session, or simply to buy some whisky to take home. History enthusiasts will want to pay a visit to the West Highland Museum for a fascinating insight into Highland life. The house is 15 minutes from the Nevis Range Gondola system - perfect for skiing in the winter and mountain biking in the summer. Fort William which lies 20 minutes to the south is known as the Outdoor Capital of the UK and offers every possible activity from kayaking , white water rafting and climbing. Really appreciated the small touches such as blankets, hand wash, shower gel etc. Great days out on hand to Fort William, Fort Augustus, Glenfinnan Monument and Viaduct and the amazing Eas Chia-Aig Waterfalls.Award-winning food is served in a candlelit dining room, which boasts open log fires. The Michelin-recommended menu includes freshly caught fish, Aberdeen Angus beef, homemade breads and other seasonal ingredients. The House was so tastefully decorated and was spotlessly clean. The main bedroom was a complete delight to stay in with beautiful views of the loche. It is in a good, easy to find location and was warm when we arrived with fresh milk in the fridge and some shortbread too. We would definitely recommend it to others.
