About this deal

A brutal but common aspect of ancient warfare was the forcible kidnapping of young women. They would be married to their kidnappers and often never see their own families again.

New growth, which Persephone became the goddess of, came from the ground. Seeds, which appeared to be dead, were placed into the earth just as the bodies of the deceased were. From them came new life. I loved Hecate, Thanatos, Hermes and Ares (even if I just got one poorly description of him). I WANT MORE OF MY KING ARES, ISTG I'LL RIOT. The other characters had no personality (Hades' personality was whisky and Persephone's was being horny)

The Dark Wife is a straightforward retelling of the ancient world, like the underworld God areas. Olympias, the underworld, and the River Styx are all present here. If you like the more traditional retellings, you will probably like this because it has actual elements from the math. I prefer underworlds that are slightly more non-traditional regarding retellings and anything involving the underworld. Look, I’m not here to rag on self-publication as an industry. I think it’s a great way for new authors to get their work out to an audience, especially an audience that might be smaller than a publisher wants to bet on. My problem isn’t that St. Clair “independently published” this book. Holy Moly, what a book!! All I can say is try to prepare yourself for the epic sizzling darkness that is Luther and the sinful, twisted lusciousness he brings with him! As a big fan of Greek mythology and a huge romance junkie, this book felt like it was almost created with me personally in mind. I loved this book. Luther and Persephone's story is a utterly consuming blend of scorching heat, warring desires, and intense emotional turmoil.

I shake my head. I wish he would just do it. I wish he would take us to the other side of whatever this is. Maybe that’s crazy. Maybe it’s not something I should ever want, and it makes me just as bad as he is. But I’ve never killed anyone. I’ve only begged a killer to do depraved things to my body. I don’t know what that makes me, and right now, I don’t care.He knew, however, that Demeter would object. She would not want to be separated from her beloved daughter, who would be taken to the Underworld as the bride of Hades.
