About this deal

Golf on a bouldering wall takes the general system of scoring from regular golf and applies it to bouldering routes. This is one of the bouldering games that is geared a bit more towards the intermediate climber but can still be attempted by the beginner. Golf forces climbers to be creative with their moves and improvise. This game is a variation of Add-On that works on dynamic strength building, deadpoint practice, and communication in the sport of bouldering.

It’s a great way of teaching yourself precision and efficientmovement. Now it’s time to give these bouldering games a go! Another type of jump you can experiment with is the double dyno: this is where you use large starting holds to dyno upward then stand on your initial handholds before then jumping again to your target hold, all in one fluid movement. It takes a bit of practice but some serious distance can be achieved in this manner. The spinner randomly selects one of each slip. All of the climbers must then execute the drawn movement. For example, left hand to blue crimp, right foot to green pinch. A player is eliminated when they cannot do the drawn movement. Training purpose This game can be played alone, but it’s a lot more fun when you have a couple of friends helping you eliminate the holds that seem the most necessary, thereby challenging all of you to climb with intelligence and prepare for the unknown! One person is 'in'. They select a place with quite a few good holds. The other partner has to try to climb around then in circles while the person 'in' has to try to stop them by getting to the holds before they do. When the person goes for more than 10 seconds without changing a hand or foot they swap places. Sent In By: Dena, Nelson, NZ Drag Race is not only a blast to play, but will also help you work on climbing smoothly while under pressure and improve your endurance exponentially - if you play it often. This climbing game is most fun on a traverse. All participants engage in traversing at the same time in the same direction at different locations on the route while one stays on the floor and randomly calls out "freeze." When that command is given the climbers must cease all movement, even if in the middle of moving from one hold to the next, for a pre-decided amount of time. Climbers may not move until given a "go" from the officiator timing the freeze. If a climber moves while in a "freeze" or falls off the wall he/she is out until next round. Last man standing (hanging) wins. Difficulty level can change based on the route or the time to hold a quot;freeze." Training Value: Endurance strength, body position technique, and fun. Sent In By: Andrew Wild From City: Cumberland I’ve also seen this done at climbing competitions where prizes are places at the top of harder climbs, and the first person to complete them gets to keep the prize. Two or more climbers decide on a sequence and attempt to send it using one arm. This can be done as an add-on or take-away climbing game. This game improves dead-point ability and greatly strengthens your arms/legs. The version of this climbing game using one foot will greatly improve body tension and trunk strength.

Your climber is controlled either via virtual buttons or swiping, and each side of the screen controls a different half of your body. Swipe on the left and your climber will move their legs. Swipe on the right and they’ll move their arms. Each limb must be moved individually. You’ll need to move your left hand up to grab a hold, then move your right hand up, then your left foot… and so on. This is traditionally played with open feet, but you can choose footholds with each move if you want the extra challenge! 2. Eliminator (1+ players)The game’s developer, Benjamin Dressler, recently released the second iteration in the Crux series, christened Crux: The Great Outdoors. The original game featured exclusively indoor problems, but, as the name suggests, Crux: The Great Outdoors adds outdoor bouldering into the mix, in addition to a few new features, such as dynos. Climber: Sky is the Limit is a mountain walking simulator game where you are a climber who takes on the most difficult and dangerous peaks on earth. To succeed you need to plan your journey carefully by preparing appropriate equipment, choosing a suitable trail, facing extreme weather conditions, and surviving. Conquer your limits, overcome your fear and reach the sky. Reach the summit

Trust in your partner is key when playing pointer. Similar to add-on, pointer begins with no route in mind and is made up on the go. Beginner boulderers can learn a lot about communication in climbing and trusting your climbing partners as well as practice dead-pointing and improving their balance from playing pointer. Equipment Needed: Your climbing shoes and chalk. Most people do this by memorizing the holds, but you could also add tape or chalk them as you go. Getting Over It is a fan game based on the hugely popular Getting Over it with Bennett Foddy. The objective is the same in this version of the game, but the theme is entirely different. How to Play: Gather three or more people, choose a wall and begin traversing. Select one climber to start as “it”, their job is to tag any other players while staying on the wall. The only important rules are that you can not tag someone who was it last and if you fall off the wall then you are automatically it. Mayhem ensues. Golf

But, every now and then it helps to mix things up a bit and add a bit of excitement to your session. That’s where the four bouldering games below come in. Improves your sense of touch, feeling not just for the best hand hold, but the best part of the hold. You will become more aware of tiny dimples and variations in the surface. And once your vision is taken away, you’ll understand how difficult it is to move your feet without first looking at where to place them, which will increase your appreciation of good footwork. One climber starts the game by selecting a starting hand hold and making a single move to another hand hold.
