Priming: Since I’m using Contrast paints on 75% of these models, I used Wraithbone spray for my primer. It gives all the colors a nice bright pop. This clutch of Knights is a perfectly sized army project – it’s just a handful of miniatures, after all… The Chainbreaker Lance contains four Armiger-class knights led by Canis Rex , a legendary steed piloted by the equally epic Sir Hekhtur. For those of a less Freeblade persuasion, Canis Rex can also be constructed as any Questoris-class Knight. The jury is out on the value of these as we haven’t seen the prices yet, but anything in the ballpark of last year makes these sets a steal.

Adeptus Custodes – Watchers of the Gate

Light drybrush Evil Sunz Scarlet. Go over the whole cloak, but focus on areas that are billowing out, edges, and corners of the cloak. Go a little lighter than your drybrush of Mephiston Red. The Knights box is a little more flexible and a pretty good buy, as the models are generic enough to want multiples. Battleforce: Thousand Sons – Court of The Crimson King Drybrush Mephiston Red. Get a nice scratchy look across the entire cloak, breaking up any pools of Nuln Oil that formed.

It would be great to see boxes like this readily available for each faction. Like a Start Collecting / Combat patrol “plus” box. and it would be great if they give each set a points balance across the board!
