Of course it's not possible to include everything in a book and Means' main focus is Anglo-Saxon (but not uniquely), but I find it interesting how a recent surge in more conservative swimming attire has opened up the world of swimming to so many women who otherwise would never have dared bathe in public, whether in pools or any other bodies of water, and fits with Means' call to make swimming accessible to everyone.
