About this deal

SMARTY’s traffic management policy is simpler than most, as it simply says that it doesn't enforce any data shaping or network throttling, which is to say that your speeds and bandwidth shouldn’t be intentionally slowed under any circumstances. Frequencies Network Frequencies Routers usually have at least one or, more commonly, four wired network ports for Ethernet cable connection. Cheaper options tend to have only a “Fast Ethernet” feature that allows for the transmission of no more than 100 megabits per second. The choice depends on the purpose of using a router. All plans are also just 1-month long, meaning you can change or cancel your plan almost whenever you want. The network notes that this means there essentially aren’t any annual price rises. That doesn’t mean prices will never go up, but it does mean that you’ll be free to cancel if you’re ever unhappy with price changes. SMARTY’s 3G speeds are also pretty decent. We got up to 12Mbps over 3G, which is faster than their slowest 4G speeds. But for the most part we got around 4Mbps over 3G.

That makes it more flexible than some networks, though the fact that it just offers SIM Only plans (along with some refurbished phones) makes it more limiting in some ways. Simply accessing the Internet is likely to be sufficient. However, if you plan to transfer files across different devices, you will need to invest in a router that comes with Gigabit ports. For instance, the TP-LINK AC1200 4G+ Router features fully gigabit Ethernet ports that will perfectly suit high-intensive wired devices.

The weird thing is I can connect to 4G/4G+ on a 200MB three data SIM just fine. Attached 2 screenshots of this, taken today, minutes apart. The first is SMARTY, where if I try to manually select the 4G signal it says 'Can't connect'. The 2nd with the three SIM which connects to 4G automatically. Portable Wi-Fi Hotspots (MiFis). SMARTY’s Data Only plans can be used on portable wi-fi hotspots (also known as MiFis). Most of these allow you to share a wi-fi signal to around 10 other devices to get them connected to the internet. You can get in touch with their chat agent using SMARTY’s app too. Or if you’re tech savvy you can use your online account and their self-help resources here to get to the bottom of your issue yourself. MiFi 4G routers, also known as mobile WiFi routers, are wireless devices. Like USB modems, they are ideal for those who need to use a router outside the house. But MiFi routers have the advantage of being able to connect to more than one device. The device works by tapping into 4G mobile phone networks and creating a wireless broadband cloud that can be shared between different gadgets, such as laptops, tablets, and gaming consoles.

VoLTErefers to calling and texting over 4G, rather than 2G or 3G. It means you can call in more places, as some places will only have a 4G signal, and it’s offered by SMARTY on a number of handsets. Data rollover

Standard 4G routers resemble a traditional routers with the difference that they are made with a SIM slot. Such routers also feature Ethernet ports and provide stable connections. Compared to a 3G network, 4G is 500 times faster, more reliable, and delivers excellent coverage. It is an excellent option for watching HD mobile TV, gaming, and web conferencing. One of the major advantages of 4G LTE соnnесtiоn is that it can be ѕhаrеd to several dеviсеѕ, both WiFi and wirеd, as well as реriрhеrаlѕ. With the help of a 4G router, уоu can easily сrеаtе your mоbilе оffiсе almost anywhere. Depending on where and how you will use your 4G router, you can choose one of the three types: a standard, a USB modem, or a MiFi option. You can use SMARTY’s unlimited data SIM card in other devices such as your tablet, mobile broadband dongle, mobile wi-fi hotspot or 4G router.

On SMARTY, you’ll get access to more than 99.5% population coverage on Three’s 4G network. In addition, if you’re using a 5G-capable device, there’s 5G coverage in more than 300 UK towns and cities. In our tests we tended to stay around the 25 - 30Mbps mark more consistently on SMARTY than on other networks. Speeds can be faster or slower than that, but rarely do you go hugely above or below that.
