About this deal

Simple in this case does not mean less. Included with the Reebok GB40s are 19 user programmes (12 pre-set), time target, calories, distance and heart rate that is measured from the pulse hand grips. This paired with the 32 levels of tension control make this the perfect combination for every level of fitness enthusiast. Negative points Another area where the GB40 exercise bike could use a bit of improvement is the console. It has no heart rate receiver and no user profile settings. One of the most recognisable brands in the world, Reebok doesn’t just do sportswear and trainers. They also make sports equipment, including exercise bikes and over the years they’ve shown us almost everything from the sublime to the err, less-so. We wanted to see what you can currently get from them at the entry-level point so see how their offering measures up against the competition, so we got in the Reebok One GB40 upright exercise bike for examination. Both my partner and I agree that Reebok must have done their research as 9kg’s feels about right for both of us. Self-levelling pedals and adjustable handlebars The first model under review is the Reebok Astroride A4 Exercise Bike which would be considered as one of the lower priced options under the Reebok brand and allows both intensive sprint training and also steady pace endurance training.

The seat itself is adjustable both vertically and horizontally which is great for our home as I am much shorter than my partner who would need to both raise and slide the seat for comfort. 9kg fly wheel with electronic resistanceThis entry in the trusted indoor cycle series orients itself around user customisation. Whenever a product is designed to give you options yourself you have to give praise – fitness is incredibly personal, even if you’re on a defined machine. 5 different people could be working out on the same machine yet they can each have different goals and different requirements, but you don’t have to tell Reebok this, clearly they already know.

The console on the GB40 is, as you might expect on a manual bike, basic. The screen is bright and easy-to-read and the basic data is easy to see. There are 4 workout options (based on time, distance, calories and manual) to choose from. Three of these are based on a metric that the computer can calculate and are target based. eg Set your workout to last for 15 minutes, and the computer will count down 15 minutes. Set your target for calorie burn, and the computer will calculate theoretical calorie burn based on RPM, distance, speed and time elapsed and you stop pedalling when you reach your target. Of course, this is very limited in nature but nevertheless, it does do a job. The reason for this limitation is that the GB40 features a manual resistance system rather than a one that’s computer-controlled. The console itself is well organised and logical without too many buttons which makes controlling this bike simple. The addition of a tablet holder and a USB charging port is a really nice touch, though don’t fall into the same trap we initially did and think you can connect your device to the bike – you can’t. The USB is purely for charging purposes but this does mean that you can take nice long workouts while watching your favourite shows or reading a book without worrying if you’re going to run out of power. Oh and there’s a water bottle holder. The Reebok One GB40s Crosstrainer is a fitness machine that provides a full-body workout. It has a sturdy construction and a compact design, making it suitable for both home and commercial gyms. The GB40s features a 9kg flywheel that delivers a smooth and quiet workout experience, even at high speeds. It also has 32 levels of resistance that allow users to tailor their workout to their fitness level.Next under this review is the GB40s One Series which shouldn’t be confused with the GB40 above as there are differences in the features available and the flywheel weight for the GB40S is 3kg heavier than the GB40, plus there are 24 more resistance tension levels to work with. Some people swear by padded gel saddles – as the default on even upper end exercise bikes can be hard on the behind! I would also recommend a rubber mat. These are inexpensive and can save wear on your carpets or hardwood floors. Working Out on the GB40 from Reebok – Console and Adjustable Resistance Design is a subjective thing and one man’s heaven is another man’s hell, but in your reviewer’s opinion, the GB40s is definitely not one that’s going to win design awards. The aesthetics of the bike look very 1990’s, so if you like retro things then the GB40s may well appeal but if you like a modern design then you may feel the same as your reviewer on this element.

There’s also an integrated tablet holder at the top of the console for holding any personal device securely. The unit doesn’t come with a tablet, but your own tablet or smartphone should fit here. If you want to push yourself through fitness apps or join an online workout class, this feature is a plus. Final Verdict on the Reebok GB40 Review This review will take a look at what each of them has to offer plus the pros and cons associated to each and there will be a wide range of price ranges to work with including lower priced basic options and higher priced premium type options. Summary Table Another bike that is worth a closer look is the Reebok Jet 100 Exercise Bike that includes 19 different user programmes to choose from and also 32 levels of resistance so you can gradually increase the intensity level as you see fit. It is also 50% assembled when delivered and the handles are adjustable.

Exercise Bikes We Like

With a robust 9 kg flywheel at the heart of the GB40S, the One Series Bike delivers consistently smooth and seamless rotations for enhanced home cycling. Featuring a clear and intuitive 5.5" LCD console, the GB40S relays live workout data straight to your screen, allowing you to monitor and assess your training output for more motivated and effective workouts. Also providing your heart rate in real-time via the hand pulse sensors, the GB40S Bike offers a complete training picture. Another Reebok exercise bike that is worth a closer look also if you have additional money to spend is the Reebok Titanium TC2 Exercise Bike which comes with a lot more added features and benefits to get more out of your training and to help make it more enjoyable. The flywheel here is 7kg, the pedals are self-balancing and in addition the foot pedal straps can also be adjusted. Please note that the battery needs to be charged initially for 8 hours when delivered and is then recharged automatically from your own movements on the bike thereafter so this is an eco-friendly choice. COMPATIBLE】 Suitable for daily exercise/weight loss/rehabilitation training people, suitable for busy work/bad weather (rain/snow/strong wind/fog)/winter.

Scottish Highlands & Islands (AB30-AB38, AB44-AB56, FK17-FK99, G83, HS1 - HS9, IV1- IV28, IV30 – IV39, IV41 - IV56, IV63, KA27- KA28, KW1 - KW17, PA20 – PA49,, PA60 - PA78, PH17 - PH26, PH30 - PH44, PH49 - PH50, ZE), Northern Ireland(All Northern Ireland postcodes). Ergonomically the GB40 is sound with plenty of adjustments to the height, angle and distance of the saddle, and along with adjustable handlebars, there’s enough flexibility here to allow pretty much anyone to get a good riding position. The gel-padded seat is comfortable though if you want something even larger then that’s easy enough as the fitting is standard. The 6kg flywheel, does do a fair job of keeping things fluid and steady all the way through the cycle. Overall the GB40 is comfortable with good ergonomics, and we shouldn’t be surprised that this is so given the manufacturer. I need to mention too that, despite it being a reasonably compact machine, I do think the console could have been a little more expansive. Besides the fact it’s a little dated in terms of looks, I do feel like it needed to have been stretched out just a little more. I see no reason why an extra program or a slightly bigger screen couldn’t have been included and still stayed a pretty low price. Because of the features available I actually think they’ve under priced this machine, and so could have afforded to go up a notch and create something slightly better with the same success and demographic met.Much like Reeboks other higher priced exercise bike the Jet 100, the GB40s has a 9kg fly wheel to ensure smooth motion while in use. The fly wheel gives you natural resistance throughout a whole rotation unlike cheaper magnetic bikes that may feel uneven and can massively vary during use.
