Located in the lush green surroundings, the Nehru Planetarium is a place for people who want to spend some time away from the hustle-bustle of the city. However, one must know that the place is located in the heart of the city. A small number of ear defenders will be available to borrow for the duration of the show. You will be able to take a pair after you enter the planetarium. The entry to Nehru Planetarium Delhi is paid. The entry fee is Rs. 100 per Adult and Rs. 70 per Child (4-12 yrs). For school students, the entry fee is Rs. 50 per student.

The Universe is a vast and intriguing place, and this show explores our own little corner of it: the Solar System. Starting from our home planet, the Earth, we’ll travel through our celestial neighbourhood, visiting planets, moons, asteroids and more! It was reopened for the general public in 2010, and some new interesting additions were made to the planetarium post that. Something that future astronauts look forward to in the Nehru Planetarium Delhi is the ’Definiti optical star projector “Megastar”. With this device, one can see as many as 2 million stars at the same time. One of the major attractions in the planetarium is Soyuz T-10. It was used by Rakesh Sharma, the first Indian cosmonaut, to travel to space. The Nehru Planetarium gives a glimpse of his journey with his mission journal and his space suit as well. Room lighting is left at a higher level, bright enough that you can walk around safely, and leave and re-enter the show if you wish.
