I tried calling from the adapter via Android Auto and unfortunately, the call audio didn’t come out of my car speakers and the microphone was coming from the device microphone instead of the car system microphone. Casting Video to CarPlay Display Then I found out about wireless CarPlay dongles/adapters. They plug into the smart adapter port of your car (usually a USB-A port, but USB-C on some newer models). Whatever smartphone plugs into it will display on the screen. The dongle is a go-between, connecting to your smartphone to the dash using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. So you can get in the car and start rolling, no need to plug in. Only 1 finalist didn’t support any secondary Bluetooth connections, whilst the rest supported at least a Bluetooth remote control connection, and 6 offered both remote and Bluetooth game controller support.
