About this deal

What differentiates this book by Stephen LaBerge and Howard Rheingold is that its assertions and theories are consolidated by an abundance of scientific studies and empirical evidence. It is important to keep in mind, however, that dreaming is such an intensely personal and subjective phenomenon, and everyone will experience it differently.

One of the strengths of this book is that the author draws insights from the writings of acclaimed psychologists such as Sigmund Freudand Carl Jung. We will start by explaining how lucid dreaming works biologically. Next, the book will prepare you for lucid dreaming by helping you to remember more of your dreams (dream recall). You will then learn a variety of ways of becoming, and staying, lucid. Finally, you will find suggested activities to try while in the dream world.

This book attempts to teach the skills that can help you to have lucid dreams — dreams in which you know that you are dreaming. For the skeptical, lucid dreams have been scientifically demonstrated to exist. The ability to lucid dream will open your mind to a world of infinite possibilities as you become adept at taking control of your dreams. His pursuits result in him questioning the complexities of the human condition, and the elusive ‘Inner Self’ which is a metaphor for consciousness and self-awareness. It is divided into six parts, and includes illustrations and photographs which help to elaborate what the authors are saying.

The narrative tone is witty and conversational, and the illustrations are as delightful as they are strange. Considering the level of depth this book delves into, readers who are unfamiliar with Tibetan Buddhist concepts may be confused. But Holbrooke never got the job he really wanted: secretary of state. He was simply too unorthodox, flamboyant, and—as Our Man chronicles—too dismissive of others. Our Man is more than a biography. It’s an account of the U.S. foreign-policy crew Holbrooke represented: people who had lived abroad and had a burning interest in those living in places outside Washington. I struggle, alas, to think of who the current Holbrookes might be.The techniques and methods which are outlined in this book, therefore, won’t necessarily work for everyone. An insightful and comprehensive introduction to lucid dreaming, this book by Daniel Love is the perfect introductory reference. Kundera was right: When the dream of one Europe came true after 1989, Central Europeans found that Western Europeans were not eager to invite them into the European Union. And when they finally did join the EU, Western Europe treated them as second-class members. Some of these include consciously designing dreams, influencing dream experiences and characters, the presence of symbolism, dream telepathy, emotional healing as well as potential therapeutic purposes.

Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming goes far beyond the confines of pop dream psychology, establishing a scientifically researchedframework for using lucid dreaming. Based on Dr. Stephen LaBerge’s extensive laboratory work at Stanford University mapping mind/body relationships during the dream state, as well as the teachings of Tibetan dream yogis and the work of other scientists, including German psychologist Paul Tholey, this practical workbook will show you how to use your dreams to: What’s more, the author discusses the scientific and spiritual aspects of lucid dreaming in equal measure, providing a balanced overview which doesn’t dismiss one at the expense of the other. Tharenthel (Talk) (Contribs) has had a few lucid dreams so far, and has done mostly reorganization. Daniel also emphasizes the importance of continually testing reality, so that we can learn how to differentiate between our dream and waking states and realize when we have achieved lucidity in our dreams. It is certainly an advanced book, and probably most appropriate for those readers who have had at least some exposure to writings on lucid dreaming as well as eastern religion.
