We absolutely loved seeing everybody’s creativity run wild with last year’s Photo Mode contest. There were so many incredible submissions (and several very sweet messages!). We wished that we could share even more with the community, so, this year, we’re expanding the Photo Mode event!

It’s been over a year since we released The Last of Us Part II, a major chapter in the growing The Last of Us universe. It’s that same world that we’ve been privileged to celebrate with the incredibly passionate and ever-growing fanbase for eight years! When we planned this year’s event, we aimed to make this day super engaging so we can celebrate the diverse and talented The Last of Us community on a global scale. As an example thisSwift sculpture wasworked in the wax stage and made unique by Joel, then cast in bronze,here are set in a landscape vista as a focal point above a lake. The Ellie & Joel statue was inspired by the cover art for the game. In-game files were used in creating the Ellie & Joel statue and the statue stands approximately 12” tall (i.e. 1:6 scale) from the bottom of the dilapidated street scene base to the top of Joel’s head. Ellie’s base is set on the waterfront. Putting her in front of a body of water, knowing she can’t swim, gives the setting an added bit of tension. These sculptures can be scaled up to become statues for the garden and landscape, and designed to become a unique artwork for your project. Option 2: Go to the Teleport Waypoint near Albedo’s camp (between Wyrmrest Valley and the Entombed City). Climb the mountain (towards the south) until you reach a cave entrance. Grab the Crimson Agate, defeat the Slimes and continue down the tunnel until you reach the camp.

Site Customisation

Each client who commissions a sculpture portrait can see Joel's work in progress and give input as to the details of character. Measuring a respectable 12 inches tall and made out of polystone resin, it features Joel, protagonist of the original The Last of Us, alongside Ellie, the girl he’s been tasked with escorting across the post-apocalyptic wilderness. The pair look suitably gloomy, given that they’ve been fending off the fungus-based infected. Though, now we think about it, we’d also pay good money for a statue of the fantastic space capsule scene from The Last of Us Part II. Joel's artworks are cast into bronze, steel and silver and she makes bespoke designs for large scale installations and features for the wider landscape.

Joel has been commissioned to make sculptures of certain species of birds by different clients for nature conservation projects and will be accepting more of such assignments each year. Joel stands at 14.25” tall on a 10” diameter base, stoically poised with his guitar and weapon. Meticulously crafted by the artists at Big Shot Toy Works and Level 52, and a follow-up to our massively popular (and sold out) Ellie with Bow Statue, Ellie with Machete Statuette, and Abby Statue. These Sculptures have been designed, assembled and made unique by Joel to become the lovely focal point for many public gardens and public events. Joel has becomefamous for such detailed portraits of people and animals, where she not only achieves a close likeness, but also captures the special expression and life of the subject being celebrated.

One of a number of famous horses whose portrait sculpture has been made by Joel, this is example is of a project to capture the likeness of the Horse Virtu for a Dressage Horse Award. Time in research and input from clients helps make the difference in the sculptor achieving fine detail and accuracy of form and line – to bring that sense of movement and making of the character and essence of individuals recreated in sculpture.
