About this deal

Several of the recipes were developed in collaboration with a few of the members of Santa Monica Studios,” she said. “While I was working on the overall recipe list, the team provided a large collection of recipes they were hoping to include in the book.” The photography in the book is beautiful, and the detailed illustrations by award-winning artist Iris Compiet really heighten the overall presentation. Nope. It's pretty much all the fights and pathos from the game but done in novelization form. That means I can enjoy the nutty craziness in another format and have it all laid out for me in a single sitting. There is a story in God of War: The Official Novelization. The story has twists, tries for poignant moments, and most of all: I could not bring myself to care. This is a ghost of God of War. The novelization manages to visit most of the main moments from the game all while sapping the life and magic from it. I don't want to be down on this book. God of War is a game about father and son made by a studio with a director thinking a lot about how his life has changed since becoming a father. His father wrote the novelization, and that is a very special thing indeed. How was he in Sindri’s kitchen making baklava? Did he really try Kratos’ mushroom quiche, which is a real dish in this book? Is the God of War cookbook canon?

As always this review can also be found on my blog The Tattooed Book Geek: https://thetattooedbookgeek.wordpress... My good "ol' days" of video gaming ended in Playstation 1, but I like to keep around of video games' world, hearing from some of my friends that they are still in the exciting world of video gaming. The other realms, even if they all exist within Norse Mythology, have diverse environments, inhabitants, and a very different feel,” Rosenthal said. “I felt like it was essential to make each of the realms feel like they stood on their own.”

When Atreus first has a visceral reaction to hearing voices in Alfheim, Kratos's response is characterized as being irritated, only becoming concerned when Atreus mentions he's screaming in pain because he's hearing voices. Compare to the game, where Kratos's immediate concerned reaction is a) notably soft for a guy who curb stomps draugr and b) one of many small signs that he truly cares for his son, he's just bad at expressing it.Obviously, the book tells the same story as in the game. Kratos and Atreus journey forth from their home to scatter Faye’s (the wife of Kratos and the mother of Atreus) ashes from the highest mountaintop in all the realms. This is my all-time favorite game series and would love the chance to contribute to the franchise,” she said. “Each of the games have a large variety of food the characters can enjoy to regain health and sometimes boost stats.” In general, the action in God of War is decent enough but there’s a couple of occasions where more description and detail would have been welcomed in the encounters and fights. It’s a tough one though as the action in the game is very visceral. Subsequently, if Barlog had taken that gaming action and written it in the same visceral way then the God of War book would have been very dark and it wouldn’t have been as accessible as it ultimately is. Enter the world of Santa Monica Studio's beloved video game franchise with God of War: The Official Cookbook. This cookbook is filled with recipes inspired by the nine realms Kratos and his son Atreus travel through in 2018's Game of the Year, God of War. Craft mouthwatering dishes from the Norse realms of Midgard, Alfheim, Jötunheim, and beyond as you explore the food of this striking game. With step-by-step instructions and full-colour photos, this cookbook will guide and inspire fans on their culinary quest through the nine realms." An Old battered Kratos is in strange lands, ancient Norway in the realm of Midgard, his life has changed, now he lives in seclusion and entirely in charge of a small boy, his son, Atreus, after the death of his wife (the boy's mother). They embark on a journey to spread her ashes at the highest peak of the nine realms.
