Step 1: Squeeze drips along the edge of the cake and coat the entire top of the cake with the chocolate ganache For teaspoon (tsp) and tablespoon (tbsp) measurements, please use measuring spoons* and not the type of spoons you eat with. Again this will ensure accuracy and provide the best results. Then place then on a lined cookie sheet, and you’re ready to bake. I always add a few extra chocolate chips on top of each cookie after they come out of the oven for that “eat-me”/”bakery-style” look.

This recipe takes quite a few ingredients but I promise it’s worth the time and ingredients that it takes to make it. Cake Using a standing mixer, beat until combined with the cake mix, butter, milk, and peppermint extract, Divide the cake batter between the 3 cake pans. The result is a delicious and festive drink that's perfect for sipping by the fire or enjoying with friends. Make the dough . In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together the butter, sugar and brown sugar using the paddle attachment for about 3-5 minutes, or until light and fluffy. Slowly add the eggs, vanilla and peppermint extracts and salt and mix on low to combine. In a separate large bowl, whisk together the baking powder, baking soda, flour and cocoa powder. Mix until combined, then add the flour mixture to the butter and sugar mixture. Mix on low speed until mixed, scraping the bottom and the sides of the bowl as necessary. Add the chocolate chips and crushed candy canes and mix on low just until combined. Do not overmix!Don't worry if the sides of the cake are not fully covered by just pouring the ganache over the cake, so you will need to take a spoon to ladle it onto the sides. Please see the recipe card further along in the post for exact quantities of ingredients and the full method. Put the crepe cake in the fridge to set before transferring it to another plate or adding toppings on it. Add the baking powder and flours, and mix until the batter comes together (don't worry if it’s slightly crumbly).

vanilla: extract is preference here. You can also add a touch (¼- ½ teaspoon) of peppermint extract for more mint flavor. One of the recipes I really wanted to share this year is my candy cane cupcakes. I LOVE the chocolate and mint combination, and candy canes are such an iconic part of the festive season, whether you actually like to eat them or not! If you’re new to the whole white chocolate and peppermint thing – let me introduce you to your new favorite holiday flavor. The sweet white chocolate goes perfectly with the mintiness of the candy canes. And the red and white color combo makes it feel extra festive. Or, you could break up the Bark and add it to a cookie mixture. It raises the already delicious chocolate chip cookie to new heights. And don’t forget, it is an ideal gift for Santa.Dairy free chocolate chips– instead of using regular chocolate chips, you can use dairy free chocolate chips. Can I just tell you how much I adore my bundt cake pans these days? This swirl bundt pan(pictured in this recipe) is my current favorite, but I also LOVE classic style of elegant tall bundt cakes, and the special shape bundt pans too!

I also use this delicious cocoa powder in all of my baking – the flavour is amazing and it’s lovely and dark in colour!I love the flavour marriage so much I have a candy cane cheesecake recipe and a chocolate peppermint cake to name a couple! Then, unwrap the candy canes and place them in a heavy-duty plastic bag. Use a rolling pin or the smooth side of a meat tenderizer to crush them to various sizes. Be careful to not reduce them to dust. and voila! An interesting looking chocolate candy cake crepe cake that tastes very chocolatey and minty! Perfect for the holiday seasons and if you decide to make this for parties and family gatherings, your guest will be very impressed well because...it kinda looks fascinating with all the layers! Change up the whipping cream– you can make the whipped cream chocolate OR serve the peppermint cake with peppermint whipped cream. Step 6: Use a medium bowl, use an electric mixer, beat 1 cup heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form.
