Alpine did a great job with this subwoofer, so no wonder people are installing it left and right. My share of rides where I’ve installed it is a Nissan Hardbody, Tacoma, 4Runner, Silverado, Tundra Crewmax, and many others. RCA plugins are also included in its design and it also has a unique feature found on the remote which makes it easy to power on, requiring just a soft touch. The protective grill that covers the sub is spaced to allow breathability while keeping dust out.

The grey wire will be the “remote” wire that you will connect to a 12V source that is only on when the rest of the accessories are on, in this case, a 12V outlet in the center counsel. This will tell the subwoofer when to be on. I then removed the center console and trim panel around the shifter to pass the power cable through, along the driver’s side of the transmission hump. I passed the RCA cables, remote volume cable, and remote amp turn on cable along the passenger side of the transmission hump (to separate power and signal lines to avoid potential noise). Then, I crossed the power cable across the signal lines at a right angle at the rear of the transmission hump, and passed them under the carpeting and poked them out the existing square hole under the passenger seat. There is also a wired bass control remote with a 15ft cable that you can hook into your sub. This allows you to adjust the bass from anywhere in your car. You can use the included Velcro strips to mount the cable and put the controller where you can easily reach it.These enclosures have a smaller frequency response, allowing them to enhance the sound of your music without requiring the same space as a ported box. It was much easier to pass the wire through that open hole in the firewall, then slide the grommet on after I shoved about 12” of wire in.
