About this deal

We’ll skip the Red Dead 2 medium chart since this CPU is already CPU-bound, not GPU-bound, so the results are about the same. In our 3300X review later today, this chart will become much more relevant and we’ll display it then. F1 2019 (1080p) Office and web applications rarely max out the CPU for long periods. These applications can use boost speeds when a burst of processing power is needed, returning to the more efficient base frequencies afterward. If you like our work and want to support it, consider buying one of our PC building modmats or supporting us on Patreon. One of the most widely used predictors of a CPU's relative performance is the Cinebench R15 benchmark, which offers a good overview of performance on many different types of demanding apps. It's a CPU-centric test that gauges both the single-core performance and the multicore performance of a processor when it is stressed. The resulting scores are proprietary numbers that represent the CPU's capabilities while rendering a complex 3D image.

In Metro Exodus at 1080p, the Ryzen 3 3100 managed 82 fps, compared to the 102 that the 9600K offered – and that was with both systems using the same Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. That is still only a 20% difference on a CPU that costs half as much, but it's something to be aware of. AMD SenseMI Technology, AMD "Zen" Core Architecture, AMD Ryzen™ Master Utility, Virtualization, Enmotus FuzeDrive™ for AMD Ryzen™, AVX2, FMA3, XFR (Extended Frequency Range) As you can see the Ryzen 3 3100 and 3300X do well in the bandwidth tests with one outlier Write test score is about half of what you would expect. This was covered earlier in the Ryzen 9 3900X and Ryzen 7 3700 X review. As usual, they both have fairly high latency when compared to the Intel offerings due in large part to AMD’s use of separate cores and I/O dies.Eikelboom JW, Quinlan DJ, Douketis JD. Extended-duration prophylaxis against venous thromboembolism after total hip or knee replacement: a meta-analysis of the randomised trials. Lancet. 2001;358(9275):9–15. Just like the rest of the SSDs out there, we fully expect PCIe 4.0 SSDs to eventually come down to a more accessible price, and that's not to mention future graphics cards. Because of the added bandwidth of PCIe 4.0, GPUs could start using the interface to further boost gaming performance, which makes AMD Ryzen 3000 and future Ryzen platforms more future-proof than comparable Intel chips. Two thousand three hundred fifty-six patients underwent either CTPA or V/Q scan for symptomatic PE and 3432 patients underwent Döppler US for symptomatic DVT (total number of scans 5788). After cross-referencing all the positive scans for preceding orthopaedic surgery using PACS and local registry data we found 28 confirmed diagnoses of symptomatic PE and 24 confirmed cases of symptomatic DVT. The female to male ratio was 2.25 to 1. In 3DMark Fire Strike the results are very close across the board except for the Physics test. Both Ryzen 3 CPUs edged out the competition and they scored nearly the same in the graphics portion leaving them all nearly equal in the results. J Bone Joint Surg Am. 2007;89(4):819–28. No surprises here. While the Ryzen 3 3100 does offer improvements in performance and speed gains off the AMD Ryzen 3200G, it trails the previous-gen Intel Core i3-9100. Intel is often swifter, head to head, in single-threaded tasks than equivalently positioned AMD silicon. POV-Ray The difference between the two Ryzen 3 CPUs comes down to how AMD arranged the cores within the chiplet. The Ryzen 3 3100 has two cores in each CCX with a shared 16 MB of L3 cache (8 MB on each CCX) while the 3300X has all four cores within a single CCX, which gives it a unified 16 MB of L3 cache. Having this unified cache reduces the core to core latency, which in turn improves performance giving the 3300X a slight advantage over the 3100. Borgen PO, Dahl OE, Reikeras O. Preoperative versus postoperative initiation of dalteparin thromboprophylaxis in THA. Hip Int. 2010;20(3):301–7. Office and web applications are typically single-threaded, so running a single application won't take advantage of a many-core CPU.As far as the rumored new wave of Ryzen 3000 processors, well, the AMD Ryzen 9 3900 would be a lower-powered version of the excellent AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, with a similar relationship between the Ryzen 7 3700 and the Ryzen 7 3700X. They apparently will have the same core and thread counts as their X counterparts, only with a 65W TDP. Ryzen isn’t just about desktop components. At E3 2019, Microsoft revealed that its follow up to the Xbox, Project Scarlett, will be powered by a custom SoC made of a Zen 2 processor and an AMD Navi GPU. Slated for a "Holiday 2020" release, Project Scarlett is rumored to be four times more powerful than the Xbox One X having the ability to run games at 120FPS and potentially 8K resolutions.

Is the Ryzen 3 3100 a bargain overclocker? Or is this a deal too far? Time to find out...

The Blender test, as run with our test file, is useful mostly for highlighting the vast differences between low-end and high-end chips, and the similarities between chips within these two categories. But the numbers here are nonetheless telling...

As an all-core rendering benchmark, the Handbrake test is a great indicator of generally how well a processor will handle tasks like video editing, video rendering, and video conversion. These kinds of apps tend to munch on all the cores and threads they can get in their teeth.Over 3 years, all patients investigated for VTE were analysed using Picture Archiving Communications System (PACS). All positive scans were then cross-referenced using PACS and local registry data to see if they had undergone THA, TKA or NOF# in the preceding 90 days. Mortality data were obtained from the national administrative database, Hospital Episode Statistics. Results McNally MA, Bahadur R, Cooke EA, Mollan RA. Venous haemodynamics in both legs after total knee replacement. J Bone Joint Surg (Br). 1997;79:633–7. We've already talked about the performance you can expect from the Ryzen 3 3100 in our review of the Ryzen 3 3300X, as we tested both at the same time. The 3100 lags behind its slightly more expensive sibling in pretty much every test, and doesn't fare quite so well against the quad-core, eight-thread Intel Core i7 7700K we used for comparison, although the difference isn't awful here either. Baroletti S, Piovella C, Fanikos J, Labreche M, Lin J, Goldhaber SZ. Heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT): clinical and economic outcomes. Thromb Haemost. 2008;100(6):1130–5. Based on our evaluation of using AMD's Ryzen 3 3100 CPU for professional tools, you can expect good tool performance with a high-performance CPU cooler.
