About this deal

Her choices have caused estrangement in her family but she’s stuck to them and Caleb really makes an effort to tell her she should be proud of what she’s built and achieved and I thought that was adorable. I absolutely ADORED her connection with Caleb, from the Hawaiian shirt through their dates, and even her confused feelings (they broke my heart, but I understood her as a character, so I never felt like the conflict was forced). You probably could have gotten a degree from circus school and been just fine baking your little treats all day.

As the two share their dating woes, Caleb reveals that he often gets ahead of himself in relationships. K. Borison is the author of cozy, contemporary romances featuring emotionally vulnerable characters and swoon-worthy settings. He has harbored a growing crush on her for a WHILE, and finally a chance meeting at a bar far outside their small town's city limits she starts to see him differently. Our tiny tucked-away town is hard to find on a good day, and most people bypass Inglewild completely on the way to the shore. Caleb was there for his brother’s birthday and he was wearing a Hawaiian shirt that definitely made Layla look twice.

The chemistry between them is red-hot, and the urge to take things to the next level is more tempting than Layla’s mocha fudge brownies. My biggest issue with Mixed Signals was that by the end of the book, I didn’t really know anything more about Layla than I got from the book description.I loved Caleb´s abuela who kept giving him life advice and tips while cooking for him, it felt so homey. At that without having any education or degree to be a teacher or anything like that, the job just changes like "that". Enter Caleb Alvarez who was a deputy but was fired because he was too nice and now teaches Spanish summer school at the local high school.

In previous books, we saw this sweetheart of a hero start to fall for his girl without even realizing it. After saving Layla from a date gone bad, he has a simple proposition: one month of no-strings dating. Not much building of their relationship or getting to know them individually outside of their physical relationship. I obey traffic laws and donate to that one charity for three-legged goats that Beckett quite literally never shuts up about. He chews with his mouth open and doesn't bother finishing before he replies, bits of food flying out with his answer.

At the start of the book Layla runs into Caleb and she finally, FINALLY, notices him and is flabbergasted at how suddenly attractive he was. The whole lovelight series is just chief's kiss, the kind of romance you remember because of how it made you feel. Like why don't they fake date so they can critique each other after a month to allow each of them to be better daters? Working at Lovelight Farms is the best part of my day, and being able to go to work with my two best friends is icing on the proverbial cake. Caleb will show Layla what dating a man who treats her like she deserves is like and she'll tell him what he's doing wrong.

Neither one anticipated just how well their arrangement would go… or just how much they’d wish that they were dating for real. I don't usually come this far out for a date, but Bryce had been insistent about trying a new tiki bar right on the coast. This third installment stars the farm's baker extraordinaire, Layla, who is notoriously unlucky in the love department. She is looking for a man who appreciates her, wont stiff her with the bill, and who will stick around. Maybe after we wrap up here, I'll sneak into the kitchen and sweet-talk the chef into sharing his recipe.
