In August 2020, record label Ghostly released the first physical versions of the album, in CD and LP formats. Originally self-released in 2013, Minecraft Volume Beta was C418's longest batch of music to date at nearly 140 minutes. This song tries to play with the idea that even hell isn’t all bad, and there’s good things to be found.

Featuring the all-new creative mode, menu tunes, the horrors of the nether, the end's odd and misleading soothing ambiance and all the missing record discs from the game!

Best known for his original soundtracks to Minecraft, the single best-selling video game of all time, he's developed a discography of instrumental music over the last decade that traverses electronic pop patterns, neo-classical dreamscapes, and sparse ambient motifs. The release garnered attention from proper music critics and the gaming community alike, becoming one of the most sought after records in the Ghostly catalog. As others have said, it makes sense for this release to have a bit of noise but it gets bad occasionally.

Though now that I think about it, I feel like Volume Alpha might be a love record to Europe, while Beta is dedicated to America and Asia. The album's artwork features an extremely dark 3D model of a block of grass from Minecraft, surrounded on the edges by a larger black and orange cube.

The collection features tracks that were “silently” added to Minecraft during its music updates and a few that never officially entered the game. Additionally, this soundtrack contains the collectible records, which are little vinyl songs you can find in Minecraft, the game. Minecraft is a community, a platform on which inventive minds of all ages can share their creations and ideas. It was shocking, but I didn’t want to remember them for their death, but the happiness they showed every day of their life.

For this next release, Rosenfeld was again given complete creative control on the soundtrack that would be implemented as part of Minecraft's November 2013 Music Update. The vinyl edition features high-quality audio and stunning artwork, making it a must-have for fans and collectors alike.

Speaking of The End, it's a shame that the simulated locked groove isn't an actual locked groove, such a missed opportunity. This is the second part to the official soundtrack to the most popular video game in recent history.
