A perfect Christmas present for young chefs, with its simple and easy-to-follow recipes and enticing watercolour illustrations. I have even talked the head into a little revamp of the library so that we can display them properly! It would be such fun to help the young ones to cook this food that comes from different places around the world.

There was just the right amount of choice to suit everyone without being overwhelming and I received comments from parents and staff about the quality of books offered compared to previous sales which have always been based around current crazes and well known celebrity authors. Lunch at 10 Pomegranate Street is bound to be a favourite in every child’s house, giving, as it does, ten recipes for delicious food to cook and share. Beautifully depicting an apartment building with people cooking food from all over the world … Really uplifting and charming. You guys are such a force for good and I am a passionate supporter of Indie booksellers, so I'm so happy this worked out well (I'd love to know how many books were sold if you have it to hand - it felt like quite a lot! One of her books was included in The New York Times’ Best Illustrated Picture Books of 2018, and in 2020 she won the Premio Andersen award in Italy for best illustrator.

This eye-catching, mouth-watering cookbook beautifully evokes the joy of food and its power to unite.

Lunch at 10 Pomegranate Street is not just a cookbook, however, and tells a charming, simple picture story perfect for bedtime with little ones . It seems like Benjamin will help him add the sesame seeds to the ‘Little Trees’ they’ll take to the banquet. A glorious celebration of community, filled with recipes from all over the world and simple instructions perfect for young chefs, a visual feast to share and delight in. However, in ‘ Lunch at 10 Pomegranate Street’, this picture book maker presents a series of fifteen individual stories and international recipes.Mr Singh is making coconut dahl with his daughter while Maria mashes some avocados for her guacamole. Bronnie is so lovely with the boys and we also felt that having a man enthusing about the books set a great example.

She has illustrated many picture books, contributed her art to magazines and newspapers, and has also worked on papercut stop-motion animations. The world’s cuisines are brought together with some well-considered pencil strokes – a book for adults to drool over, as well as children.The deep, soft colours, the wonderful faces and rooms, are so detailed and interesting, it’s almost as if each picture is just waiting to be walked into . You guys were so fab and Dawn was such a lovely presence in the schools - I will absolutely be in touch next time I'm in your neck of the woods.
