I love that this book for younger children was created as a picture book with a relatable story, rather than just an informational text for adults. And if you’re looking for a gift with a very good sense of humour, check out our hilarious personalised book If You Were A Sandwich. Maybe I wasn't in the mood for it because it was very melancholy in voice (obviously the main character was facing a lot of things--racism, bullying, her mom was hard on her, etc. Honestly, I don't even know what caused their falling out; one day they have a great time in the school library and the next Annie doesn't show up and never comes again and stops talking to Frances. WE LOVE LOVE is an encyclopaedia of life as Britt and Laura have lived it, full of hard-won wisdom, hilarious anecdotes, serious challenges and refreshing honesty.

This beautiful book display all the ways we express of love and is accompanied by glorious illustrations.I’m such a sucker for a book with an impactful ending, and Victoria Chang had just the right amount of sparkle in this one. This thoughtful and heartfelt gift is filled with pages of heartfelt reasons why you love and appreciate the special person in your life. I have been remiss in not mentioning Ken Min sooner than this, since his colorful and lively illustrations add a lot of happiness and joy to the story. In a day and age when we tend to focus on our differences, Love is Love is here to remind us that the love of family is a shared value across cultures and family structures, and it gives our children the language they need explain that. Each LoveBook® is a custom made list of all those little reasons why you love or appreciate someone.

Holocaust Memorial Day takes place every year on 27th January and marks the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp. And as the relationship between Frances and Clara develops and deepens, Frances's own steps towards a stronger sense of self are truly heartening. The message is a little heavy-handed, I feel books such as A DAY IN THE LIFE OF MARLON BUNDO get across the same message with more finesse. Whether it’s for your love or to celebrate a couple in love, this book is truly, madly, deeply unique. While they aren’t getting much traction, Frances does catch the eye of a local tennis coach who sees her aptitude and natural talent. While Frances tries to juggle her heritage, school, tennis, and the mysterious disappearance of Clara’s hair, she comes to better understand her sister in a sweet and unexpected twist and finds where she really belongs. This is such a special gift, that it is sure to be treasured forever by whoever is lucky enough to receive it.

Teachers could read this book aloud to teach theme, as it has very consistent repeated message throughout the story.

Five children from different countries show us who they love and how to say 'I love you' in their own languages. I also didn't like how the book attempts to use the word 'gay' throughout the book even though the author explains why in the back matter it just felt like if anything it created even more of a stigma to the word because it was used just about on every page. The acronym is for Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays, but anyone under the LGBTQ+ "rainbow" -or family member of - is welcome. And although there is a growing number of 5-star worthy picture books that give representation to the LGBTQIA community, there is definitely a place in my public library collection for this title.
