Nintendo is known for protecting its characters very well, and now we have news related to the character of Kirby: a fan has decided to create a card game using the image of Chef Kawasaki, a well-known character from the Nintendo saga. There are no figures on the deck's sales so it's unclear exactly how many people managed to snag a set.Karuta are Japanese playing cards, and a deck featuring Kirby and his closest friends would probably go down a storm if an official deck were created.

The first, and probably only, decks went on sale earlier this week and sold out in a matter of hours. Chef Kawasaki wearing a teeny tiny bikini, and even Kirby wearing something similar in some of the cards included with the deck.

Fortunately, she’s also easily pleased by anything Yoshi-related, creepy-but-cute Pokémon, and SEGA air pirates. That popularity right off the bat may well be what alerted their existence to HAL as shortly after that, the cards' creators revealed they are no longer allowed to sell them. As if that wasn't bad enough, the designs being sold are a little less savoury than the family-friendly image the Kirby series has. Days after purchasing I got a note saying that it was going to be shipped but if I wanted to pay more I could have it expedited. With the discontinuation of the cards on HAL Laboratory's request, Chef Kawasaki's Micro Bikini Karuta sounds like it's set to become a bizarrely sought after fan-creation.

HAL Laboratory, the developer of the Kirby series, has shut down a fanmade card game featuring supporting character Chef Kawasaki.As spotted by Automaton Media, the game, fittingly titled Chef Kawasaki's Microbikini Karut, has been removed from sale at the request of Kirby's developer. KWSK Karuta is the company responsible for the deck's creation which was dubbed Chef Kawasaki's Micro Bikini Karuta. This unofficial creation, however, has Kirby and Kawasaki donning micro bikinis, not exactly in keeping with the family-friendly image the series aims to project.
