About this deal

I certainly didn't anticipate enjoying this novel as much as I did and I think fans of Jojo Moyes work will feel the same. Fiona Hardingham is outstanding in her narration, providing each character with his and her own distinctive voice and personality while communicating a difficult story. The things that did happen I didn't find overly believable and one of the main characters was just annoying and frustrating. This book is still considered to be the vade mecum for modern dressage, and a quote from the book precedes each chapter in The Horse Dancer. ik ergerde me op veel punten aan de personages en het was allemaal zo voorspelbaar en overdreven dramatisch.

Questa è la storia di Sarah un 14enne introversa, ma abile cavallerizza che si vede costretta a prendersi cura del suo amato Boo da sola, perché suo nonno è stato colpito da un ictus. Unauthorized use and/or duplication of this material without express and written permission from this blog’s author and/or owner is strictly prohibited. There are a few similarities between The Horse Dancer and her new novel, The Girl You Left Behind, especially the addition of legal aspects.

Henri has been trying to train Sarah in the basics of dressage, an equestrian sport defined by the International Equestrian Federation as “the highest expression of horse training” in which “horse and rider are expected to perform from memory a series of predetermined movements. Used to dealing with underprivileged kids, she takes Sarah home to find her living by herself and a broken in flat. I started listening to books rather than reading as I found I just didn’t ever have the time or the inclination to sit and read anymore. I could see that the things Natasha dealt with in her job were reflective of some of the things going on with Sarah but I found them a bit distracting to the overall plot. When Captain is unavailable to Sarah, due to health problems, she is unexpectedly thrust into the lives of Natasha, a solicitor advocate and her soon-to-be ex-husband and commercial photographer Mac. Moyes' novel Foreign Fruit won the Romantic Novelists' Association (RNA) Romantic Novel of the Year in 2004.Natasha presents as quite a cold person in contrast to her happy-go-lucky, easy-going ex-husband but I think she was the one character of the novel that underwent the most change and it was a fascinating journey to experience for me as a reader. When Sarah's grandfather gives her a beautiful horse named Boo - hoping that one day she'll follow in his footsteps to join an elite French riding school, away from their gritty London neighborhood - she quietly trains in city's parks and alleys.

But Natasha, the lawyer who becomes accidentally involved in Sarah's life to the point of totally upending her own? When Henri is suddenly hospitalized, Sarah finds herself alone until her path crosses Natasha Macauley, a solicitor advocate who takes her in, along with her estranged husband, Mac. Moyes uses quotes from the book to head up each chapter and I have to say that my curiosity was piqued about how something so old, probably 500BC, was still venerated today. In my quest to read one of my favourite authors back catalogue, The Horse Dancer was next on the list and, I have to be honest, was a book I was quite wary about reading. A quintessential Jojo Moyes novel about a lost girl and her horse, the enduring strength of friendship, and how even the smallest choices can change everything.

Con una trama che riesce ha far si che due storie, apparentemente distinte, possano fondersi in un’avventura straordinaria! She won a bursary financed by The Independent newspaper to study journalism at City University and subsequently worked for The Independent for 10 years. I'm not really a "horsey" kind of girl although I love animals but rest assured, you don't have to know a whole lot about horses to appreciate this lovely, uplifting novel. I picked the book as the title stood out to me ‘The Horse Dancer’ as I thought it might vaguely feature horses. Even if you’re not horsey I think you would still enjoy this book as it describes the way of life in such a way not to alienate readers.

Like there were just a few other people in the world who spoke his language and all of them lived in that one place” (p. She’s evoked emotions and memories and also made me question how far I would go to ensure my horse was safe. Juxtaposed to Sarah’s story is that of Natasha, a 35-year-old Solicitor Advocate specializing in children’s cases at a high-pressure law firm. As a young man, Henri Lachapelle is the star of La Cadre Noir, an elite group of horsemen in the French city of Saumur. In a stable under railway arches, lives Boo, a Selle Francais he bought as a colt for Sarah; together they train him and he gives them purpose. They are in the process of getting a divorce and are attempting to sort out their house and other financial issues when their paths cross with Sarah. Cowboy John ran the urban stables where Boo lived, he seemed kind although a bit quirky and his character added to the stables peculiarity as a little haven hidden from the rest of the world in the middle of central London.
