Sam’s character was one I thought would be redeemable with the possibility or her having her own book, but like other plots running through the novel I felt she/it became a villain/device rather than being cohesive in the story building. And according to the residents of the Japanese island of Okinawa - the world's longest-living people - finding it is the key to a longer and more fulfilled life.

I’ve got extremely complicated feelings about this book, and I think that if I reread it knowing how much I would love Delilah and Macon as a couple later on, it would be a completely different experience. And the title - I know it used to be different - Kristen said something about it on FB, but it got changed. I really disliked how the book ended, not just bc the plot went bad but also because it was unnecessary and because it felt like some things were just thrown in there because they had to be solved somehow. I was captivating , the writing was so good that you will fall in love immediately with the characters and you will not put it down until you finish it!For some reason, I just couldn't fully connect with the story or the characters and I even found myself skimming every now and then. I could MAYBE get over a hero having dated the heroine’s sister (and have, plenty of times), but this time it just came up so frequently that it got in the way. Bob Johansson has just sold his software company for a small fortune and is looking forward to a life of leisure.

But 10 years later, that changes when Sam has stolen Macon's watch (which he values), runs away, and disappears, not leaving a single trace of contact and turning her phone off. I know I am picky when it comes to what I consider a HEA and what is not, but I definitely was left frustrated at the end of this one! He implied he could make her a life a living hell, and while I was actually hoping for that NOT to happen, I honestly expected him to be mean. New and familiar characters abound, voiced by a bright mix of performers, including Kat Dennings, Regé-Jean Page, Emma Corrin, Michael Sheen, Kristen Schaal, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, Jeffrey Wright, and so many more, including fan-favorite narrators Simon Vance and Ray Porter.This deeply personal and supportive series offers listeners an honest and relatable insight into how some the UK's best-known celebrities have coped with mental health difficulties, ranging from OCD to insomnia, addiction to grief, and depression to anxiety. There was a sweetness that I did not expect, and romantic, emotional depth that filled my heart to bursting.

I just haven't been in the mood as of late and this one checked all my boxes and provided that much-needed escape from real life. This is also when Macon broke up with Samantha, saying he “wants nothing to do with the Baker sisters. This is a slow burn romance book and I admit that I would have liked to see more intimate scenes between them. Delilah is forced to face the bully of her teenage years but she is not ready to feel the crazy attraction towards him.Such as after Sam told Delilah the truth, he wanted to go up to her because she knew she would be crying and upset, but he knew she needed space too, so he gave it to her as he spoke with Sam.

In the beginning of the book we’re introduced to Macon Saint, Delilah Baker and Samantha Baker, whilst they’re still in high school.Considering her mother was hospitalized, had lost her husband, and could easily get another panic attack that can cause her death, I thought Delilah was strong for what she did. But for one second there, I thought I was getting what I wanted: “Why do you think I found you so annoying? It was a really beautiful enemies to lovers romance with some Hollywoody and some other interesting things thrown in.
