For a scene like this to be only a few pages, not even the main “third-act breakup” reason, and to be fully and utterly resolved like nothing happened in the end? even though the main couple aren't together, I felt a little stomach sick when the third person was brought in towards the end, haha. Later in the story it comes out that Palmer has been a consistent affair partner since the FMC and OM started dating four years prior. My favorite aspect honestly was probably the conversations the two had not just about sex but about everything.

Avery and Finn have instant attraction to each other but are initially just friends, until Avery asks him to be her sex coach in exchange for helping him with branding for his business. It’s a rally for body positivity, but it’s much more than that, too — it’s about learning to pick yourself, accept your imperfections, cut toxic people out of your life, and cultivate solid and healthy relationships.

I’ll go deeper into the areas that affected me negatively later, but first a bit more on the story for context. The beginning of this book was the FMC being dumped by her ex because he wasn’t satisfied with their sex life. But will they be able to keep their emotions out of it, and keep from falling in love before the summer ends and Avery leaves? It was only during the LAST FEW PAGES that Avery started to get the hint, started to self-center herself and her own perspective.I didn't like that he actually went through kissing someone else and getting her to unzip his trousers. It always seemed to be framed from the perspective of others, how others viewed her, how others treated her. I absolutely loved this book how it focused on a very hot attractive male character and gorgeous plus size female character and how he teaches her to love herself ! Kay created Avery, the FMC, with insecurities that really hit home for me and because of that, I connected so deeply with the story and the FMC. A body positive, neighbors-to-lovers romance about a curvaceous beauty who strikes an unlikely bargain with the handsome photographer next door.

I had anticipated the plot twist, but swayed myself away from that line of thinking multiple times to the point where I still thought "wtf? The book starts with our FMC getting dumped and moving to Las Vegas for the summer to house sit as a favor for a friend/client. After Avery is broken up with DURING her wedding proposal AND on her birthday, she jumps at the chance to house sit for her friend Dex to take some time away and recover. Feeling like her lack of sex appeal and prowess may have been the catalyst for the downfall of the relationship (just another toxic lie from Mason), Avery comes up with a potential solution.

She was strong when she was working but weak in her confidence and body image - to the point where everyone around her commented on her weight… it was repetitive to say the least. Avery was such a fun, multifaceted adult and I loved watching her come out of her shell in different areas. It may make you out of your mind jealous of Avery having Finn, but it will make you smile, blush, and cry because of how amazing he is. Because she’s more of a plus-sized character, like me, I really appreciated the raw emotions that Avery struggled with and I loved how supportive Finn was of her and how he never ignored her feelings but loved her through them!
