I got this massage gun as I've started to go to the gym recently and I wanted to find something to alleviate the pain of the second day and I must say I'm positively impressed. This massager reaches 45C in seconds and we found it incredibly effective at soothing our muscles after a workout and just helping us to relax after a day at our desk. It packs a considerable punch given its modest dimensions and comes with useful instructions, with our tester praising its seamless movement over their muscles.

It moved smoothly over the muscles, working quickly to dissipate aches without causing any additional discomfort — in short, less pain, more recovery gains. However, it does boast a lot of features – six massage heads, five speed settings and an app – that not everyone will want, let alone need, so don’t assume the most expensive gun will be the best match for you. It doesn’t seem quite as powerful as some of the other guns we tried, so we nearly always used it on the highest setting, but it’s great for a quick blast after the gym to prevent muscles getting tight. The case it comes in may be slightly too big to carry around comfortably, but the gun itself is lightweight and surprisingly quiet, considering its size. My favourite attachment to use is the foam ball, and the only attachment I haven’t used is the bullet which is too hard and the pressure too concentrated for me but that’s just personal preference and it’s great that there’s a choice of attachments. Given its tiny size, it’s the perfect travel companion – just whack it in your bag and you’re good to go. It’s even smaller and lighter than the 1st gen model, so it’s super easy to slip into your gym bag for a quick post-session massage, or clip onto the outside of your bag thanks to its handy travel case.
