I was lucky that the jacket came in to be reviewed during the coldest week of the year here in Denver. The Jack Wolfskin North Climate Jacket is a very warm down jacket that has kept me warm in -15F temps. Jack Wolfskin is a new company for us to work with, so I did not have an expectation for them to meet. It is also very breathable, so moisture vapour can escape quickly, which means the down is well ventilated and able to maintain its full insulation performance. It is well known that down isn’t especially warm when it’s wet, but that isn’t a problem with the North Climate Jacket.
This down jacket is robust, wind resistant and very warm, thanks to its RDS-certified duck down fill. The stable loft insulation traps warm air and prevents heat from escaping quickly, making it an ideal choice for enhanced cold weather protection
